Has anyone heard if Kasey is living in 100 year old castle? Is the field really heated, but that it won't do much because it is so cold? Did you know Cherundolo is really dimunitive? These have been repeated 1000 times. O'Brien is really poor. After every play, he is back to his story or anecdote about each player - instead of following the play. O'Brien is so poor, he is actually taking my thoughts away from Celo so I have no comment on him. Thumbs down for the first half.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] I agree. I'm more frustrated by O'brien than I am in how the US is playing or how the ref is calling the game.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] 2002 WC: Poland beat the US in the consolation round. thanks, DOB ... i had no idea there was a consolation round in the WC.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] Yeah, who would have guessed that Germany is cold in March. Wow. I almost feel like Dave O'Brien is bringing me from the couch to the North Stand of Fritz-Walter-Stadion. This guy should stick to the ill-fated World Baseball Classic.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] He sounds like a moron when he says left foot kicker or right foot kicker, I have never heard anyone ever say that; Its soccer we know he is going to kick the ball therefore he is a leftfooted/rightfooted is enough, with that said marcelo leaves him hanging all the time, DOB will make a point expecting Marcelo to fill in and elaborate instead he is just quiet
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] Say what you want about DOB, but Celo' is simply awful. He talks like the guy in the old Fed Ex commercials, a bout a million miles an hour and makes absolutely no sense most of the time.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] with the exception of the consolation comment, O'Brien was once again professional and classy. Balboa, though his playing of soccer helped him, was annoying as always.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] I enjoyed the game on a huge screen with a projection system - in absolute silence - it was lovely
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] "I'll tell you what... here's the thing...it is really snowing hard."
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] If Cherundolo visited Kasey's 1,000 year old castle, would he still be short?
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] Yeah, Stoner is a geek, but at least he has a genuine enthusiasm for the game.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] Depends....is it still snowing or not? and is he a left or right-footed kicker?
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] How many times in the first half did DOB mention that the US had been scoring alot of goals in the other games leading up to this one?? I think i counted 3 times. By the way, can anyone confirm whether it was snowing at the game?
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] Did he say round or game, game of course would technically be correct. The difference would be that one is effective and one is perscriptive. obviously the perscriptive variety of consolation game does not exist at the WC, while invariably the effective type does.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] he did say round. I truly don't think this guy has ever watched the World Cup before. Let alone a medium amount of games. Anyone who says his voice makes him professional is nuts. He proves he's unprofessional by not knowing the game he's announcing. None of this is gonna change anything. I dont know why i bother.
Re: O'Brien/Celo - US v Pol [R] The DOB quiz to be taken after the Broadcast 1. Keller lives in a castle now but where did he grow up? 2. How many hours will it take to get the Polish border from Kaiserslautern by Car? 3. From Kaiserslautern, how far is it to the French Border in miles? 4. How far is it to Paris in miles? 5. What river valley is Kaiserslautern near? Also I wish I had a dollar every time during his broadcasts he talks about the bubble especially with regards to Twellman
