Trouble with Some nations is they think just because u have a tenuous link to them that their heritage is far more passionate than England's. The Scots Welsh Irish Africans think that these players have a greater affinity to them. Englishness is looked down upon by them. Gray has stated he's 3 quarters English

Yeah I would move on from him, he’s definitely one that’s lost to us anyway.

With Nathan Patterson ruled out of the Euros I suspect Scotland might make another approach for Tino Livramento.

Kind of feels like another player that’ll be lost to injury anyway.

If he was gonna switch before this summer he would've done it already. Makes no sense to leave it until this late.

Of course you suspect that, but we have absolutely no way of knowing whether this will be the case, and certainly no way of knowing how Livramento would decide in this, at present, strictly hypothetical situation.

In front of him Livramento has Trippier and Walker who will soon be too old, James who can't stay fit, and TAA who is used as a midfielder. He should fancy himself to be first choice before long.

I still get the feeling that Trent is destined to deliver something special in an England shirt at some point ... and probably as a right back.

If Carsley ends up being our next manager I think Trent will have that position locked in. A progressive manager like him would jump at the chance to have Trent starting in his best position.

I agree. Put any of the current Top 6 managers in charge of England next season and l think they'd all have Trent as their starting right back. It just feels like we're wasting a genuine World Class talent at the moment.

Klopp has tried him at midfield this season so maybe not.

I've said before I think we're the only "big" nation in international football that wouldn't start a talent like Trent. We're always way too focused on what players can't do rather than what they can do.

I think at any point in his City tenure Pep would've swapped Walker for Trent in a heartbeat.

We're comparing an anomaly of a talent to a player whose standout attribute is recovery pace. Tonnes of top high line defenders around but very few Trent Alexander-Arnolds.

Trent's supposed sub-par defending is also very over-exaggerated. He's a genuinely good 1v1 defender but does struggle tracking far post runs. But it's really tough being a defender of Liverpool's right hand side because Salah doesn't track back much. He's a much better defender than Cancelo or Zinchenko are/ever were. Pool have won every trophy under the sun with Trent at right-back.

Walker isn't just pace, he's a complete freak of a defender who's probably the only full back in the world who can reliably shut down the best wingers in the world. You don't stay in a Guardiola side as long as Walker has by being an average footballer. There's a reason he's just about the most decorated player in our entire squad.
