BP with 2 reclassifications, both high level.
I'm thinking Natty even if Jody doesn't come back.
    The numbers suggest it.
    Time between nattys. 4 (14-18), 3 (18-21), 2 (21-23)
    One is up.

the amount of talent signed in the 23 and 24 classes is really impressive. Already can't wait to see what they ultimately come up in the 25 class which already looks like a very good class.

    FSU by the numbers.
    19 on current roster.
    -1 with Brown likely gone = 18.
Add in Bugg, Puerta, Washington and McGovern for 22 likely to start the season.
I'm curious to see if Rain will be ready to play anywhere near full speed this year. ACLs take 9 mos to a year to heal, but the mental side of trusting the knee varies player to player.
Also we are likely missing 4 or even possibly 5 for U20 WC (Aug 31 to Sept 22) add in a couple of days before the tourney, maybe more if they have training. Take a minimum of 4 days off after the tourney and you lose nearly a half of the season.
For that period of time we could be relying on 16 players barring unforeseen injuries. Aren't I a ray of sunshine?
Now with good health, Lord help the teams who play us in November when we should be gelling.

Was great to see the reel Seminoles IG shared of her running. Though her statement hints the injury may be worse than we had heard previously.

I'm not on IG. How did she look running? What statement did she make?

she might have the ACL and meniscus combination. Hope not but this could take more than a year to heal.

She said she “blew out her whole knee” in an uncommon injury with a longer recovery time. She ran tentatively maybe 50 yards on grass and it was clearly a huge milestone for her. I wouldn’t expect her back in the fall on that timeline :/

I agree. Probably ACL and 1 or more of the other main ligaments. PCL (posterior) Medial or Lateral collateral ligaments.
We'll see her next year! 2025

Feel badly for her. Her first game here and BOOM, she's out for what is likely 2 years!

RU saying that based on hope or inside knowledge?
"Blowing out multiple ligaments in the knee is usually a year and a half to 2 year rehab.
    Just saying.

I have intimate experience with the injury. With modern surgeries and the support she has, I imagine she will be good to go this fall. I could be wrong.

We'll see! One ligament and I'm with you, but multiple and I'm skeptical. As you say, we'll see!

Do we even know what the injury is?

Coaches dont have to say a lot about injuries on the women's side. It took Notre Dame six months to formally acknowledge that Oliva Miles tore her ACL. To the best of my knowledge, Virigina has never specified what felled Mir McLean (hoops.)

Apparently on IG she indicated she blew out her whole knee. To me that sounds like ACL and at least one other (probably more) key ligaments. Posterior Cruciate, MCL, (medial collateral) and LCL (lateral collateral)
In my observations over time (multiple sports) multiple ligaments is usually 1.5 to 2 years. That is what I think when she indicates "blew out her whole knee.".

Another site is reporting that we are expected to announce an impact transfer from the NW.
That's all I've got! Anyone here hear anything?

There was the previously announced transfer of a center back from Portland who graduated but has a Covid year of eligibility remaining. Could it be her? I also could imagine the possibility of a transfer from Gonzaga. Or maybe someone from Washington State. But I have not heard anything about either of those teams, so just imagining. I can think of one other player that FSU almost for sure would covet, but I am putting that one out of my mind.

I have no clue if the info is correct, or who it could be. Camille is already on the roster, so it's not her.

Tampering and NIL. Disappointing to see it's impact clear as day in this sport now.

You've got some vision there. You are aware of the transfer portal are you not?

You mean the transfer portal that isn't open for this sport until May 1? So any arrangement, discussion, etc before is illegal? As is the NIL money from staff used as an inducement? And is it just coincidence that top committed players are de-committing from top programs and then going to your school? Those situations are not the portal.

I have a feeling you'd see it if a rival was doing all this. I truly appreciate the loyal fan you are of the best team in the sport but also face how the roster is being built as you cheer the winning. This is not about better recruiting, coaching or harder work and every fan, parent and coach knows it. Well almost.

Getting recruits to come to your school instead of others sounds like pretty much the definition of better recruitment to me…

Plenty at play in recruitment these days for sure but I also think there’s plenty to sell with the top program of the last decade who just won a national title in dominant fashion with an exciting style of play while putting players into the league and national teams at a high rate.

#1 What I heard was hearsay on a message board from a fan. Don't even know if it's true.
#2 Correct me if I'm wrong, the portal windows are for players to declare the intention of POSSIBLY transferring. The actual transfer can occur well after the portal window is closed.
#3 Why don't you wait until we have an actual player before condemning us?
#4 The NIL at the appropriate time if perfectly legal.
#5 We have been operating at a competitive disadvantage in recruiting for decades when compared to Stanford, UNC, Duke, UVA, UCLA and USC and probably ND. Anson once said something like, "Whenever I go into a recruit's house competing against FSU, I know I have a 75% chance of winning. When my competition is Stanford, I know I have a 90% chance of losing. Was using academic prestige, multiple other sources of defraying scholly cost and post degree connections legal? Yes!
I'd have done the same thing if I were them.
#6 Verbal commitments of recruits are non-binding until they sign a Letter of Intent.
So what you are referring to is not illegal.

What do we have to sell?
    A. A great training ground for the Pros if they want that.
    B. A good public school (top 20) education.
    C. The best soccer program in America.
    D. A rabid fan base.
    E. Now we have NIL which helps us sell the above and overcome our competitive disadvantage.

Please don't expect me to cry tears now that our success and NIL allows us to occasionally poach a recruit from the 'blue bloods'.
You may not be, but you sound entitled sorta' like, "How dare FSU poach a recruit from UNC, Duke or Stanford? Don't they know their place?"

Now if you have knowledge of wrong doing, by all means pass it on to the NCAA!
Otherwise, please keep unsubstantiated pejorative accusations about FSU OFF an FSU thread!
    Reasonable debate is welcome!
