Bowen starts for West Ham. Ward - Prowse, Phillips, Ings, Mubama, Johnson, Cresswell and Casey are on the bench.
Alexander - Arnold, Quansah and Elliott start for Liverpool. Jones and Gomez are on the bench.

Good to see Jarrod Bowen back. Fifth consecutive match now through when Joe Gomez has not started - not sure that is good for his Euro chances.

Bowen scores for West Ham. His 20th (16th in the PL) goal of the season.

He's a strange player. He's got a good instinct but he's bang average everywhere else. Maybe he'd be better at being a striker

I think you underrate Bowen a little bit roverman. Imo he's good enough to be a backup who plays significant minutes at a top-four team in the PL. Similar to like, Diogo Jota or Leandro Trossard.

In fact Liverpool have been linked to him quite a bit.

Reed starts for Fulham. There are no English eligible players on the bench.
Henderson, Clyne, Mitchell, Hughes, Wharton and (Olise) start for Crystal Palace. Rak - Sakyi, Ozoh, Matthews, Ward and Tomkins are on the bench.

Maguire, Wan - Bissaka and Mainoo start. Mount, Forson. Wheatley, Amass and (Jackson) are on the bench.
No English starters for Burnley. Brownhill, Trafford, Rodriguez and Taylor are on the bench.

Hall, Livramento, Burn, (Anderson), Longstaff, Gordon and Murphy start for Newcastle. Barnes, White, Wilson and Parkinson are on the bench.
Foderingham, Holgate, Bogle, Osborn. Arblaster, Brooks and Archer start for Sheffield United. Marsh and Robinson are on the bench.

Kilman starts for Wolves. Doyle, Bentley, Barnett, (Fraser) and Okoduwa are on the bench.
Mengi, Burke, Barkley, Doughty, Morris and Clark start for Luton. Berry, Townsend, Shea, Woodrow, Adebayo and Johnson

Eze out injured. Fulham fans on social media think Reed is going as well - Fulham could have no English eligible players in their matchday squads next season if that happens. Rashford out injured. Mount back fit. Still amazes me to see Burnley with no English starters.

Do we really need drawing conclusions about Fulham's next season squad in April?

Kane's warming up nicely for the Euros. He's now scored 42 goals in all competitions, his best haul ever in a single season.

I'm increasingly unsure about Mainoo, even against Burnley he doesn't exert the kind of influence on the game you'd expect. Some of it isn't his fault, the United team is pretty useless against every team at controlling games but it leaves precious little to go on in terms of selection for England. As a wider squad player but he just looks so high risk even compared to our weak alternatives. Even Adam Wharton looks pretty substantially ahead of him as a all round footballer right now.

Pickford, Tarkowski, Young, Godfrey, Branthwaite, McNeil, Harrison and Garner start for Everton. Warrington, Hunt, Metcalfe, Lonergan and Keane are on the bench.
Toney starts for Brentford. Lewis - Potter is on the bench.

Calvert - Lewin unwell but good to see Toney back.

Me too. I think through if Southgate has doubts about Mainoo it might lead to Trent or Henderson starting and I’m not sure Mainoo is worse than either those two in what Southgate will want.

I was never really a big fan of TAA starting in midfield, but even he would be a somewhat better option than Mainoo who just gets completely bypassed game after game right now.

I think there's definitely a conversation to be had about someone like Adam Wharton starting ahead of Mainoo (I think I'd pick Wharton myself) but we've seen what both Trent and Mainoo look like in England's midfield and Mainoo isn't the inferior one there.

Really wanna see him make a big mark on the semi-final against Real Madrid. Whilst not being bad, his big game record has definitely dropped off from what it once was in recent years and I think he's long overdue a match-winning performance in a game of this magnitude.

I think Mainoo played well in his one start, but I would be pretty cautious about drawing many conclusions from a single friendly game, certainly against the wider evidence base of club performances. We'd have to acknowledge that the friendly games aren't really played at the level of competitive games.

I'd take both mainoo and Wharton

It's true, but Trent has also struggled in midfield against much weaker opposition than Belgium. I also think you could really tell the Belgians wanted to win that game, they were pretty fuming when Jude equalised.

I admit that really there isn't enough evidence to make definitive statements either way but I can only go off what I've seen. I won't say Trent in midfield is a guaranteed failure but it's a huge risk at best and a likely failure at worst based on the limited evidence we have.

I took a close look at Wharton against Newcastle on Wednesday night and I have to admit, although we were awful, Wharton was really impressive.
