Our dear unpredictable Rapids play the LA Galaxy tonight at 8:30. If anyone has a stream to watch, inform us. I predict a tie, one half 4-0 to the Rapids, the other 4-0 to the Galaxy. Which half is which I can't say.
Well, given that this is the Gals 3rd game since September 5th, and the Pids 5th game in that same time frame(14 days)....I’m not expecting a lot. Plus the Gals beat LAFC 3-0 and then went out and tied SJ 0-0. My gut tells me we win 2-1. My head tells me they lose 3-1. I honestly don’t know what to make of tonight’s game. Whoever guesses tonight’s score correctly, can you also let me know what the winning lotto numbers are?
The Galaxy haven't played since last Sunday? That's not fair, but that's the way it goes. With Rapids flying in today after having played in Frisco on on Wednesday I would guess there will be a bit more squad rotation. Rubio, Bassett, Lewis, Namli all looked really tired when they came out. The heat and humidity didn't help either. My guess is that Shinyashiki will start in the #9 role and perhaps Benzet and Galván will start out wide with Mezquida in the middle. In the back line you have to think that Abubakar will start and be paired with Wilson. Neither played in the match Wednesday. Don't know if there is anyone to realistically give Vines a break. Can Kelly or Rosenberry play on the left? And Yarbrough back in goal. It would seem that the chances of the Rapids earning a point are slim and to do so they most likely need to score first. And they need control play through the midfield like they did at FSL.
At 31 Yarbrough is the "old man" of the starting XI. A majority of the starters are 25 years old or younger.
Think we'll play better than Wednesday but not dominate like last Saturday. LA's lineup doesn't scare me, unlike previous years. 1-1
Too many underhit passes, like Wednesday. It was the right pass to Lewis but too slow and didn't give him space to shoot.
And most longer passes have enough 'tell' that they don't get there. Rapids score on a long cross field pass and cross to Bassett.
