Not sure this is right: it sets a ceiling of five times the bottom earner’s TV + commercial revenue. But the lowest tv revenue is 130m quid. There isn’t a club with revenue five times that right now, and depending on the specifics and language of the rules, there isn’t a club that would fall afoul of this rule other than Chelsea.
Idk, I genuinely think every other match they have a higher chance of losing points. Brighton just play too open. Wolves and Spurs have a better chance imo. Fulham too
If we don't win out, City win the league with a game to spare. Two weeks ago we had the tightest title challenge in 11 years, and now it might not even go to the final day. Love seeing Klopp's farewell tour end like this.
The only team with all of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City still on their schedule is Tottenham mother fcuking Hotspur. As far as I'm concerned , Liverpool is out of the conversation, our only obstacle are the Citizens of Manchester. But if Brighton don't get the job done, our North London neighbors surely will have a say, one way or another.
Personally, I love the situation Spuds find themselves in this wind-down. They need max points to ensure a CL spot over Villa, but they know that if we win Sunday and they beat City (and Liverpool) they help us win the league. It’s the archetypal “damned if you do or don’t”. Maybe their motto should be “to be damned is to do”. Makes more sense than their current one. Their situation looks very, very Spursy.
We will see They have a tough stretch with these matches so close together. They also have to make up the FA Cup Saturdays. They’ve also not won at Tottenham for a while.
It’s possibly too late in the season, granted. I guess we have to hope that Villa continue to perform and Spurs don’t have a clear path to top 4
It was always more likely all the teams would drop points - and as we see during the season, in unexpected fixtures.
Wheres that Bayern flog from earlier? What did I say about Liverpool having a derby as one of their "easy" games and how I said Pool would drop a game, at the least draw with someone? Its rare I am proven right so quickly. As for Spurs, the Spuds fans on the other board I am on would rather beat us and miss CL rather than see us win the league. One of them said something like "we can't have them win the league just as they get used to the new normal of not winning anything". Beating Spurs on the run in to a league title would bring me a lot of joy.
Brilliant move by Xavi. On the verge of being fired in January, says he's leaving at the end of the season to take the heat off. Then turns things around enough to keep his job, so he announces he is staying. Gotta respect the hustle.
That job is such a poisoned chalice . . . why wouldn't he prefer just to kick back and enjoy the rest of his life doing whatever the hell he wants whenever the hell he wants? I get his passion for the club and love of the game, but damn Xavi, let someone else take years off their life doing it.
Yeah, I’m saying I hope Spurs haven’t sewn it up by the time of their City match, because then what you’re expecting would certainly transpire
