It's definitely a hot bed, (but, that refers mainly to the actual temperature).

Except the Hunts paid for it whereas Fisher didn't... just glad Hunt brothers are spending money on soccer instead of trying to corner the silver market...

That happened almost 45 years ago and the Hunt brothers are all dead.

I am aware, I was comparing how the previous set of Hunt brothers used their wealth to the current set of Hunt brothers

I worked with a Hunt once (not one of Bros). He insisted on being called Michael. It took me a while to figure it out.

Mostly places that are miserable during the summer, but maybe that's the point? Why get soft playing in the Bay's perfect weather? :)

Plenty of host cities aren't on that list--no Seattle, Vancouver, New York, Miami. As I understand it, there will be both team base camps and venue-specific training sites for teams to use temporarily when they fly in for a game. Also with 48 teams I assume more base camps will be added.

Base camps (i.e. a club's facilities) are selected for the quality of their training facilities and travel time to games, with lesser consideration for nearby amenities like beach, golf, fun, etc. If a team only anticipates one game here, they wouldn't stay around here.

Can you imagine England or Germany using the Quakes facilities and being happy about it? No way.

Anyone know if they are going to show the Copa America or Euro Cup games at Pay Pal Park?
