Toney out of the squad amid Saudi rumors. Nketiah to Brentford?

Spending €25m on a keeper would only make sense if they are convinced he can be better than Raya. I'm assuming they will negotiate a lower fee, Garcia is only valued at €800k on transfermarkt.

Brentford playing without Toney, suggestions are he is leaving the club but no idea where. Glad we aren't linked with him anymore.

    TNAT fwiw.....

I assume he is talking GK & FW if Rams & Eddie/Nelson are moved. Not sure who the 3rd would be unless he is including Merino in that count.

Merino deal is asymptotically approaching completion, never quite reaching there.

3rd signing could be a low cost Marquinhos-type from Brazil.

Keep seeing various "sources" out of Spain that make it sound like Sociedad are playing hardball. Supposedly went from asked 25-30m euro to asking 40m euro and are now holding out for an acceptable offer.

Keeper and a young player. It makes sense, tbh

it does but selling ramsdale and getting a keeper in 12 days is a stretch

Based on Ornstein's comments about Joan Garcia already being lined up, my guess is those negotiations (fee and personal terms) are already taking place behind the scenes and can be wrapped up very quickly if necessary. Not every deal takes 3 weeks like Merino - which sounds like could be due to Sociedad.

Yeah, we're being a bit stubborn with our price for Eddie. Maybe partly because Mikel always seemed to rate him, perhaps higher than the average fan did. Personally I'd take the 25-30M, call it a day, and hopefully do this early enough to be able to sign a new forward.

We already got burnt playing hardball with Marseille and rating him too high. It's ridiculous. He hardly played last season and will likely not play much this one. Take the money and move on!

Or, hear me out, keep demanding too much, barely play him for a year, and sell him for about 25% of what's currently being offered next summer.

Man hasn't scored a league goal in 10 months and someone's offering £25 million for him? And we're saying no?!

Arsenal can’t seem to find the happy medium between selling to cheap and pricing themselves out of a sale. Either way they are still bad sellers.

what’s the point selling him at a low price if we can’t replace?

he made a lot of appearances last season.

He played 107 Prem minutes and 28 minutes in cups/CL in 2024.

I don't think he needs to be replaced at all.

i looked it up and saw he has 27 league appearances and over 1000 mins so maybe that was more in 23?

He played quite a bit until Havertz and Trossard started playing 9 and doing much, much better.

Yeah, he started 7 games before the October break when Jesus was out, and 3 games the rest of the season, last one on New Year's Eve.

After that, he barely played and did basically nothing of value. Second-half Nketiah is very replaceable by any combination of Jesus/Trossard/Martinelli/spot minutes for some academy kid.
