Guintoli on the new Juve project. https://www.footitalia.com/giuntoli...ponsibility-as-soon-as-i-arrived-at-juventus/ Here is what he had to say about Weston: "....Qyestion: McKennie was also on the transfer list. “No, he had a renewal problem, but he was never out of the project.”

It was mostly about money. Weston wanted "too much" on his new contract. Eventually his agent and the club came to an agreement and all is well.
I do not think that was ever in doubt. It was just Thiago Motta playing games to get a new contract signed. He was in his last year of the contract ending in 2025, and he officially signed a new contract on Aug 23, 2024. They came to terms about a week before that, and that is when everything changed.
Yeah, they call it “silly season” because it is full of these kinds of irrational ups and downs. Contract negotiations can be openly brutal over there.
I hope that one McKennie hater hasn't been banned and is around to see this lol... The first #USMNT starting XI of the Pochettino era 🇺🇸Lineup Notes ⤵️— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) October 12, 2024
Impressive Poch already knows the way to get the most out of McKennie is to try to leave him out of the project— watke (@watke_) October 13, 2024
Wes didn't look happy. Maybe Poch is playing head games to get his mad and "show him" he can play much better than either Morris, Musha, or Luca
❗It's feared that McKennie could be out for a long time due to a muscular injury. [@GiovaAlbanese] #Juventus— Forza Juventus (@ForzaJuveEN) October 14, 2024
‼️UPDATEMuscle fatigue in the left thigh for McKennie, who will miss the Lazio match as a precaution. The midfielder will be available for the game against Stuttgart.@_Morik92_ | #Juventus— Bianconeri Zone (@BianconeriZone) October 15, 2024
