We all saw the debate - which only put on camera what had been speculated about for months. Physically, Biden could not have campaigned for 3-4 months with the intensity needed to beat the economic headwinds.

Across the country, salaries have fallen behind inflation by greater or lesser amounts over the last 4 years, but they have fallen behind in almost every county, as in about a dozen of them. In Pennsylvania, the counties where that margin was greatest are the ones where her vote share has fallen behind Biden's the most, particularly Philadelphia county. Pretty similar in Las Vegas

And sorry, but forget the whiteness stuff: the demographics where Trump made gains were Black and Latino males. Working class males. The minority female numbers aren't that great either.

Race, gender and sexual orientation can't beat employment, cost of living and housing. Trump offered no solutions and will probably make the situation worse but from the blue collar workers' perspective, the Orange Monster had the same priorities
