"Germany was winning nearly every tournament they qualified for.".... this sure reads like your saying it was easy for Germany to win everything back in the day...

But anyway... I just find it annoying to see this DFB loser energy vocalised as the world catching up, or competition drastically improving, when all I see is the same few key wnt/clubs still consistently winning major tournaments...

Seriously, the idea of everyone catching up almost sounding like Orwellian double speak for what's typically known as wide spread incompetence lol...:whistling:

(The DFB) Oh, we the DFB can't put things into action to remain a competitive team anymore, so lets just say everyone else is so much better now lol.

Honestly... my big frustration with this way of thinking, is seeing how the DFB would openly acknowledge the truth behind the broken nature of their wnt program, but decided to waste a stupid amount of years being unwilling/too afraid to actually make the necessary changes to provide their women the type of leadership to effect healthy course correction.

Since Germany would win their last WC, we've seen ONE more Euro side lift the trophy either side of back to back USA victories, where we'd need Japan to prevent a 3rd consecutive USwnt win...:speechless:

But no... Germany are less relevant now because the world is catching up, forgetting Germany needlessly wasted 9 years (2015-2024) refusing to update/rebuild their wnt program lol; and despite this still seeing a recent cycle end with a Euro 2nd place, Nations League 3rd place, Olympic 3rd place, either side of a uniquely poor WC effort.

Can someone explain to me why Hagel is still at Wolfsburg / What she’s done wrong there to earn no game time?

All of this... and yet you refuse to comprehend this isn't how the game works in reality... As even a bad approximation of the sport within a video game like EA's FIFA, the code is written so variables will determine if a card actually shown during a DOGSO...:whistling:

But of course at no stage will you even acknowledge FIFA's own stance on the rules for yellow and red cards being part of a series of guidelines that can be enforced, or ignored, based on the referee's own discretion.

This not a sport played or enforced by robots (yet..:cautious:), where if the rules were actually enforced like your constantly projecting here, we would see every match reduced to being an unwatchable mess, ending with 9 or 8 players on the field.

A pretty relevant example here being the Roma substitutes running onto the field during their equalizer Vs Wolfsburg during the recent UWCL encounter. By the rule book, we should have seen numerous yellow cards shown here, no...? But hey, guess what... common sense prevailed.

    • entering, re-entering or deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee’s permission

Nobody... I mean NOBODY cares about seeing this rule enforced, because it's typically seen as being needlessly pedantic or f*cking dumb lol. And guess what, this happens all the damn time in football, including the nature behind why a referee will decide to apply DOGSO in situations like the 2 witnessed during last season's contest between Frankfurt Vs Wolfsburg.

She moved clubs and in the process seems to have forgotten how to pass and shoot lol. Basically removing her two main qualities that saw her stand out within Hoffenheim's team, rendering her completely useless to a Wolfsburg side already in desperate need of constructing a competent mid-field...

She's currently one of a host of players who should probably seek a move away from Wolfsburg come the end of the season. Hagel a CAM/AM who's previously proven herself a legit goal threat within a UWCL and top 1.Bundesliga level team, if she can't regain her old form in a Wolfsburg jersey, still only age 26, she still has more than enough time to potentially resurrect her career somewhere new.

I'm not saying it was easy, I'm saying that's what was happening. Standards have changed, the overall quality of many other nations has improved significantly so there are a lot of factors to take into account.

I know you watch this game beyond the women playing, but I have to ask.... have you ever played this game for yourself...?

Your entire post here sounding like you don't even understand how players will typically move with or without the ball. Anyone who's actually played the game, or seen it being played at a high level (I Know you have), understands the exact type of body movement Boboy would successfully apply here to win a penalty in this game...:speechless:

See, in a normal understanding of what we witnessed here it's viewed as an agility based SKILL move, not a intentional foul lol. In my mind Ronaldinho probably the most famous player to consistently replicate this type of explosive manoeuvre to beat his opponents to the ball.

Are you so desperate to gain some kind of nonsensical moral victory here, you've decided to view an impressive example of agility based body control, as a reckless attempt to hurt an opponent...?

By FIFA rules this is potential player endangerment...
But we all know the scenario's this will be viewed illegal within the normal flow of a game.

In Boboy's penalty decision, she was just executing a more extreme version of this move...
Where it see's her using a more exaggerated jumping step towards the ball to round the GK. And not only did this move allow her get the ball first, but also move the ball away from the Goal with enough force to entice the GK to create the type of contact that would lead to the referee CORECTLY awarding a PK.

Of course standards change/improve... this being directly linked to Germany going from a dangerous underachiever to a fully developed WC wining quality senior wnt, spearheading a series of elite championship level junior wnt's throughout the program.

Germany's last WC win coming in 2007, we'd see Germany reach 3 of the following 4 Euro's finals, with two 3rd place and one 1st in the Olympics. As a disjointed Germany would even finish in the top 3 of the inaugural Nations League.

Again... these highly damaging 9 years without real leadership, only resulting in Europe's Germany-less vacuum having Spain move up to win a WC, with home nation Netherlands, and then a very fortunate home nation England wining Euro's..:devilish:

I'm sure we all understand Germany winning 8 consecutive Euro's being truly INSANE, and a feat that will never be replicated. But from the semi final WC run of 2015, and the Euro's quarterfinal exit 2017, it's pretty easy to understand the more obvious factors beyond world wide improved competition supposedly preventing Germany from able to compete for a WC, no?

The 2019 German wnt seeing 3 different coaches lead them that year...:speechless: before eventually being eliminated at the WC by a traditional power Sweden. We'd have Germany become a joke for the 2023 WC, yet still end up in the top 3 of the European Nations League, and the finish 3rd place at the Olympics.

Leaving me to ask... where's this new world order...? Because I'm pretty sure you swap any of the top wnt's with Germany's last 9 years, they wouldn't even be able to qualify for major tournaments, let alone find ways to finish in the top 3 of tournament finals...:whistling:

With the DFB's run of bad decisions, and everyone else being so much stronger, how the hell are Germany coming anywhere near the top 4 of tournaments anymore...?

It's in Spain and England but also in several other countries that have recently started investing more ressources in women's football like France. Whether anyone else could achieve what Germany achieved in the 2000s and 2010s is obviously debatable, that's entirely a different discussion. Nowadays we are seeing things that 10 or 20 years ago would have been inconceivable like Poland qualifying for a Euro. Germany have to now compete in a market where they are facing more opponents that can take the fight to them as opposed to before.

Germany should be competitive in the Euros but will continue to struggle vs Rest of the World recent losses to Zambia Colombia Australia USA suggest that their system can’t handle the more hybrid game that’s playing outside Europe—and you can add Brazil, Japan & even N Korea as strong contenders as well for the next World Cup.

    Germany’s got some current pro’s & cons;
On the pro side; too go along with its strong tradition, it still got the deepest woso infrastructure in Europe—-not just that it’s got the biggest population in Western Europe, but obviously winning the Euros in the past so many times.
On the con side; not being able to produce the hottest current thing in soccer; 1st generational African speed burners(it’s the only reason why WOB won yesterday)—right now Anyomi & Zicai just aren’t good enough(Jonsdottir they ain’t)

next con; way too overhanded German coaching—-just like yesterday with Stroot forcing the inexperienced(at CB)Lattwein to the back so that Hegering’s could go more on the attack—I mean it’s the same garbage goal give away that Wuck did vs Italy(as Linder didn’t either have experience in CB-ing)
there’s a reason why nobody else around the world hires German coaches(they suck!)

What has this Ronaldinho video to do with Boboy? Ronaldinho doesn't jump (even when the opponent stretches his leg out!).It's a fluid movement and he has always control of the ball. Boboy never had contact with the ball. It was the goalkeeper who cleared the ball.

Yes, my point is mainly that they will struggle against the rest of the world as their recent Euro vs. World Cup performances showed.

    Nine German players made this year’s Guardian Top 100 list, however the highest was only at #26. Here are the rankings;

    #26 Gwinn
    30. Schuller
    32. Berger
    34. Nusken
    35. Popp
    56. Buhl
    63. Oberdorf
    73. Brand
    79. Freigang

    Vo ist Lohmann?

blissett, Smith at #3, still think she’s overrated?

Obi shows her quality by being the top 100 despite not playing since July. I thought Gwinn should be higher.........................

hopefully WOB takes it easy on Obedort once she returns as many stars recently have had hard time getting back to their prime after returning from ACL. Couple of examples are like Miedema & Macario who are struggling to get their careers back in prefer even though they’ve been officially back for over sb year. Putellas as well took over year to finally start got the Spain NT again

that might be better for Obi’s recovery then since Straus’s ‘I’m a boring Norwegian’ type coaching would better than Stroot’s ‘mad scientist’ approach
