lol, its a pet peeve of mine to have jackasses mess with me in my favorite threads :) I just like to talk about the sport and drop what knowledge I can without messing up that source's piece. I wish I could post more shit I get, but like I said it would be messed up to the guy/gal that gave me the info. You gotta come watch a fight with us dude. SDS is likely heading down here sometime next month. Excellent opprotunity.

I know man! People forget that Tyson made that division look bad and he looked great doing it. Michael Spinks can lay claim to being one of the best light heavies ever. Taking it to Larry Holmes was no easy feat, no matter what anyone says. We all know what Tyson did to them both.

For a long time I had a subscription to Ring Magazine, and a bunch of other smaller boxing magazines that are getting harder and harder to find. They had a lot of great material on boxing history, or they would at least spotlight a good book that I could get my hands on. Bert Sugar has good material on old school fighters, I'm talking early to mid 1900's. Some of his stories are pretty fascinating. Some people don't like Bert Sugar much though. As far as Mexican fighters go, I get a lot of that stuff from my dad. He's not a big a fan as I am, but he remembers a lot of the champs and then I just do my own research.

Cotto wants a title in a 4th weight division. He's fighting someone at 160. He wants it to be against Jr. because of the whole P.R. v. Mexico thing and Jr. has a bogus belt. I'm not convinced Jr. gets past Rubio even though it's a very winnable fight. Cotto needs to find another titlist and then make a fight. This whole thing can lead to a Cotto v. Martinez fight, which wouldn't be bad at all.

i knew Jr wouldn't fight Martinez next.

Not a problem. LOL @ the V Diesel comment. In that pic I'm about 15lbs less than what I am now. Funny thing is I put on more muscle AND fat since I'm no longer sparring. Oh and I shaved my head last month so maybe there's some Vin Diesel in my current appearences lol. You watching the game this Sunday anywhere? A few of us are getting together to watch in Santa Monica. You're more than welcomed to join up with us.

Oh yea, Metal is huge in Europe, it's consistently in the pop charts. I wouldn't blame Cobain whatsoever. In fact, he killed the cheest 80's hair metal that took over the mainstream (as much as I have a guilty pleasure for that it was about time) but Cobain took rock music back to a more genuine state, where it should be, and his music was fantastic. Metal did itself in with the image it created during that period in the 80's but I always felt its exposure was one of the main problems. There was loads of great metal in the 80's, yet not many knew of it. There's even better Metal now and all that people associate with it are the bands they see on MTV. Also, it's 'heavy" for a reason and unfortunately not everyone has an ear for what they perceive on the surface to sound like screaming and loudness.

Thanks. I'll definitely contribute something. I havent' decided yet but obviously I'll want to share what I was exposed to and different than what everyone else is posing - so it'll be Metal. I am a bit upset that it's become such a fading genre. I don't mind so much that not more people listen but moreso that it simply doesn't get the respect it deserves because of intentional ignorace.
