Based on their website it appears that the men’s staff from chicago city usl has gone to River Light other than TM who is leading Menace. Interested to see who In Chicago has the talent, historically Chicagoland has had one quality team whether fire u23, fc United, chicago city… heartland should be fun with Peoria drawing crowds and putting competitive teams on the field, menace being the kings of the league, St Charles looking to get better on a third place finish in year one and two new clubs in Chicagoland.

I'm hoping that USL2 doesn't mirror the youth scene, which is balanced towards the suburbs.

    Club:
    Columbus Crew
    Nat'l Team:
    United States
Keeping up with the USL2 changes…

    New:
Hill Country Lobos (Kyle, TX - new club - 9/5)
Club Brand TBA (Utah County, UT - new club ran by Utah United Academy - 9/19)
Charlottesville Blues FC (Charlottesville, VA - new club - 9/28)
River Light FC (Aurora, IL - new club - 10/3)
Salem City FC (Winston-Salem, NC - new club - 10/18)
Brooke House FC (Orlando, FL - new club - 11/21)
Almaden FC (San Jose, CA - new club - 12/20)
Midlakes United (Bellevue, WA - new club - 12/26)
West Seattle Junction FC (Seattle, WA - new club - 1/3)
Tacoma Stars (Tacoma, WA - new club - 1/4)
AMSG FC (Huntington Beach, CA - new club - 1/16)
Hattiesburg FC (Hattiesburg, MS - new club - 1/23)
Utah Avalanche (Midvale, UT - new club - 1/24)
Union FC Macomb (Macomb, MI - new club - 1/25)
Sueño FC (Joliet, IL - new club - 1/30)
Coachella FC (Coachella, CA - new club - 1-31)
Inter Gainesville KF (Gainesville, FL - new club - 2/1)
Dothan United (Dothan, AL - new club - 2/8)
Athens United (Athens, GA - new club - 2/12)

    Out:
    NC Fusion
    PDX FC
    Park City Red Wolves
    FC Wichita
    FC Manitoba
    FC Miami City
    Altitude Rush
    Dalton Red Wolves
    North Alabama SC
    Texas United
    LA Parish AC
    Round Rock SC
    FA Euro NY
    FC Carolinas

    “New”:
South Bend Lions -> Michiana Fútbol Club (rebrand 1/10)
Springfield Athletic Sporting Club -> Staten Island Athletic Sporting Club (relocation 2/9)

New club Salem City FC comes from private ownership taking over the NC Fusion departure.

Of note, the Chattanooga Red Wolves lost a lawsuit (if it’s truly called that) on their logo/imagery to Arkansas State. It’ll be noteworthy on potential implications to their Dalton and Park City USL2 entities.

There will be 128 clubs in USL2 for 2024, up from 123 in 2023. But, there was a dramatic drop in clubs as well, plus some rebrands.

stadium requirements is the main reason, We expect to be back next year (fingers crossed), in the meantime, we will be in the UPSL, with less travel, and should be more competitive. Former Timbers player Villafana is the new first-team coach.
