Will the Scotland football team ever get beyond the first round in the world cup or euro final? I would like to say yes but think it will never happen as Scotland is it's worse enemy at the world cup and euros as any time we are on course to make it out of the first round we inflict a self inflicted disaster which stops us I.e. Jim Leighton failing to hold a shot from brazil at Italia 90 and brazil score from the loose ball from it to win 1-0 against scotland when a 0-0 would have taken Scotland out of the first round into the next round.
It's always been a bad mistake that knock Scotland out. They had USSR beat in 1982, should have been 2-0 at half time, even 3-0, then they let the USSR back into it and then that disaster with Hansen and Miller. It should have been McLeish and Miller at the back as it was at Aberdeen. I reckon they can beat Switzerland, I really do, Switzerland were lucky to avoid the playoffs, they always avoid playoffs, I reckon they would have been beaten in the playoffs if they had met Greece, Ukraine, Wales. Hungary is the key game for Scotland. A draw would be good, a win would be great, but they are a very good side these days. Germany will beat us by two goals, I reckon, it will be an intense game, lots of pressure. It will be a tough tournament for all the teams. Italy has it REALLY tough. Saturday 15th June, 9pm against Albania is a helluva start for them, then Spain, then Croatia, YIKES! England have it tough, there was a time when playing Slovenia was easy, but not now, they have some team now for a nation of just over 2 million people. It's very hard to predict anything right now.
