    In a row

Also the shared hosting country thing sucks because it ends up having most of the tournament in one country and then like 2 games for the other countries

Yes - was hosted by Brasil during pandemic. It makes perfect sense to the Copa to be in the States given WC will be there in 26.

Too much money and too much opp for the teams to familiarize themselves with locations for the next tournament.

Technically Brasil hosted in 2019 and 2021 so it is not always hosted in the USA.

Let's get real here. After the pandemic CONMEBOL needs to recoup the money they lost during those months.
The best way to do it was to have a Copa America here in the USA.

FBI goes after FIFA because it's corrupt as well as some of the South America Federations. Our Fed President went to Jail no?

then Fifa gives US the WC and COmenbol gives the US 2 Copa Americas.....

    seems suspect

Blame Obama cause it was his FBI that did it.

Seriously, FIFA did not give us a World Cup, it was voted upon and it will be in USA, Canada and Mexico which beat out Morocco with a crappy bid.

CONMEBOL gave us this one Copa America because it is a 16 team tournament and no one else wanted to host 16 teams. No other Federation would make money off of 6 CONCACAF teams.

wtf was Borre 90% of the time is he a CM?

As of today my gut feeling guess:

    GKs Vargas, Montero, Ospina.
Vargas is the clear number one. Montero seems to be number two. Maybe Mier gets on the roster if he continues to play well in Mexico but Ospina may just be there for leadership.

    CBs- Davinson,Lucumi,Cuesta, Yerson
Mina is the odd man out for now unless he is healthy and looks better than Davinson down the stretch. Cuesta looked good so I had to put him on instead. But all of this will come down to the wire and how Lorenzo is feeling in May.

    FBs-Munoz,Mojica,Borja.
As much as I do not like Mojica he played well these last two games. Machado is out unless he is healthy and playing better than Borja.
Santi Arias can be on the roster too but from what I have been hearing about Yerson playing LB I think he is the backup. But we shall see.

    DFMs- Lerma, Castano, Rios, Uribe
I hope Portilla or Solis make the roster but I still have the pessimistic feeling that it will be Uribe if healthy.

    Attacking Mids-James, JuanFer, Carrascal
I think this is pretty much set. You will see why...

    Wingers-Diaz-Yaser, J Arias
...I think Yaser can make this roster over Sini. Of course I am not sure about this. Sini can make it and maybe JuanFer get's left off.

    "Strikers"- Santos Borre,Cordoba,Cassierra
This is going to come down to the wire as well. I want to see Duran but he has to get more minutes and stay healthy. Cassierra and Cordoba both showed that they belong these last couple matches. At least they showed promise and flashes during good stretches.

Long way to go between now and when the roster has to be submitted. One last thing I have to say is Cuadrado may have a chance if he plays at Inter but more than likely he is not going. I heard he is already training though in Italy so...

Hope no Borre(Duran), Ospina(Mier), juanfer (sinesteria, Gomez ), Uribe (Puerta,Solis, Portilla)

Feel you had too many 10s prefer wingers. The 10 just works with james and hopefully Yaser can be his super sub. Prefer more explosive wingers and box to box mfs

You can hope all you want but Santos Borre is probably going to play in the Copa barring injury.

Mier can make it but Ospina is favored.

Sini can be there instead of JuanFer. That I can agree with. Gomez is good but will probably be left off since he has played zero minutes for Lorenzo other than the Non-FIFA friendlies.

I hope Uribe gets left off too but Portilla and Puerta did not get any minutes so that to me is not encouraging these last two matches.

Fair enough about the 10s vs. wings but Yaser can play wing and has all season for Watford with some speed.

Carrascal can also play wing. He started on left wing when Diaz was out against Japan.

That side of the bracket sucks though. Argentina is great and then it is what? Chile? Peru? Ecuador?
Mexico is going to have over 70K fans at almost every stadium they play.

That is why the odds makers still are giving them a chance.

If they were on our side of the Groups then they would not be favored at all.

We choke in this cup all the time. Also don’t Ecuador normally get laughed out in the 1st round of copa America

Peru over preforms as does Chile

We have a tough group and hard way to the final but it’s pretty much beat Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. Would be nice not to have to play Brazil twice tho beating them in the knockout round is what I would prefer than beating them in the group stage

Honestly in terms of what we could hope for coming out of 2022 we're in about the best place you could imagine. We've transitioned from alot of the older guys and look better, Diaz has stepped fully into his roll as a super star, we've unearthed a complete gem of a player in Arias, found Castano, and our defense has been good with guys who Rueda ignored stepping in when Sanchez/Mina fell off because of injury and form. On top of that we've revived James in a system perfect for him, Lorenzo has provided a way of playing that suits our players and has a definite idea of how we want to play and always attack while constantly pressing and harassing opponents.

I think player selection might be a couple hiccups but Lorenzo has done the hardest parts and seems to have recognized some trouble spots (Uribe hopefully) and is learning and adjusting, we've got a good chance to do well in the Copa and after the disaster of last cycle that's a great position to be in.
