Yeah but the same problems apparently exist. The exact same problems.

(outside of the Francis Scott Key bridge - that's sad as a Marylander. Been across that bridge 200 times).

Yup. Stunning how quickly that bridge came down.

What’s perhaps even more stunning and happened even quicker were the conspiracy trolls (such as Alex Jones) claiming deep state, Biden, the Illuminati, pedophiles and vaccines were to blame.

I actually agree. A vaccine took down the bridge. Why wouldn't it have?

I've been fascinated with the phenomenon of conspiracy theories for a while, because I have (unfortunately) a couple conspiracy enthusiasts (not the Trumper variety) in my extended family. Cuts across IQ, educational, professional lines. It's a definite psychological profile; these people immediately go to the behind-the-scenes / outlandish scenario stuff instinctively. Big control of environment needs, a lot of insecurity, cannot function with any sort of ambiguity so everything has to be fully explained in their thinking.

Another pressurized item of sociology that was until recently in society, a latent non-problem.

Leaving aside the obviously compelling notion that Alex Jones should (were Karma a universal truth) have his balls ripped off by a rabid hyena, allied to an inside his head constant loop-memory of his mother acting in a cheap 1970s porno-flick (since he has nothing else better to occupy his stupid brain-cells, and he despises their proper utility so utterly)
    but I digress....

There are (of course) hidden conspiracies in the world. The issue with anyone likely knowing (the attempted hidden) aspects of them as reasonable theories is in the outward facing issue of expertise or in the probability of actual received knowledge or the capacity to see where it(knowledge) is actually missing from record (requires expertise again). This primarily, as a point reached, is the one that should always need be reached in order for there to be a conspiracy of possible merit to speak of or investigate publicly. This concept, therefore, should be uppermost as the necessity and as the initiator BEFORE any public dissection of theory should/could become acceptable, before any moron mouth opens. But instead we have, the internet and social media - the place where the moron mouth always opens fastest.

These clowns' mentality does a disservice to the possibility of breaking down any real hidden secrecy, by allowing the mass of society to more easily dismiss any properly instigated notion of conspiracy alongside the idiots ranting about Flat-Earth and toddlers being sold in pizza parlours for sex.

Also, it requires constant noting that speculating about possible conspiracies isn't the same as speculating about the possible reasons for them, even when you know nothing of either in terms of proof.

When I were a lad, I used to go out on calls with my uncle who was a vet. Saw more cows than women before the age of 18 probably (explains a lot, right?). And yes, f.uckhead is so full of shit.

Though, actually, is it any more ridiculous that Betsy DeVos, Lumpy’s Sec’y of Education, claiming in her confirmation hearing that guns might belong in Wyoming schools due to the threat posed by grizzly bears?

ETA: It is difficult to decide who is the more ridiculous, though I think the Minnesota cowboy edges it.

obvious solution: give all schoolkids in WY and MI guns and send them out to eliminate all cattle-related and wildlife-related risks.

I wonder if the NRA will give me an award for that idea ....

hmmm ... I'll need to work on that idea to make it into a grift opportunity. maybe sell Kids Cow-and-bear Hunting licenses, $250 each including a free Bible with foreword written by the Man himself.

You need high-falutin’ expert PR language for start. It’s the Department of Bovine and Ursine related Murders of Real ‘Murricuns.

I don’t know enough about the legalities but I’m wondering if the launching of Truth Social is a way for individuals, corporations and billionaires to get around campaign donation limits?

By buying stock you know is worth very little, being prepared to legitimately write off the purchase as a tax loss all the while filling Lumpy’s personal coffers? With the added attraction that by buying Truth Social stock you don’t suffer the public scrutiny or embarrassment of donating to Lumpy.

What would be the point of bovine shooting? The idea of farming is to keep them alive while on the farm? Whether for Milk or Beef.... Farming 101.101
I should know - I grew up watching cows in Southern Ireland...

The only times I've seen guns used on a farm was for rattlesnakes and coyotes.
