Since it has been cancelled, it doesn't make any sense now. Even for the fairness of the competition, I mean it's only when there will be 2 games to play for each team that all the teams will be even. Moreover, Albi played on sunday, will play tomorrow and on saturday. Urawa will play tomorrow and on sunday.
Thanks. The pitch was awful indeed: at times, it looked like they were playing something else vaguely resembling football (mud-football? ). I wasn't aware these matches were just 70' minutes long. I actually don't mind much the celebration of the goal.
FT Urawa 2 - Albi 0 Albirex wasted the few chances that they have in 2nd half to get back at 1-1. As usual, against teams like Urawa, you are punished when you waste your chances.
I thought Seike was on the border line of 18 members of Olympic squad, but she would be in as long as she continues this performance.
Urawa are just too good right now. They have the best squad by a mile and that is without Naomoto and Ando. INAC are making it interesting, but I can not see them going to the end of the season without dropping points. Of course Urawa may drop points at some point, but they seem really focused since the end of the winter break. Niigata have a well-organised squad, but they just could not match Urawa in midfield. They have an awful lot of experience in that team, but they still probably need one more creative midfielder to help retain the ball a bit better against the better teams.
It was out of tournament friendly. Japan will play Sweden in Friday (in tournament) in final group game.

Mmm, anything really unexpected? I've only given a glence to the list: all of the youngesters are there (not only Fujino, Tanikawa and Koga, but also Rion Ishikawa and, especially, Maika Hamano). Hinata Miyazawa is back : so we should be able to deploy our WWC's Golden Ball in the Olympics. Kiko Seike is there as expected, given her current form. Interesting choice to bring Oba as a 3rd GK: probably because she's US-based, so this is the best possible chance to give a look to her?
Ueno and Hamano were unexpected to me. Nakashima and Tanaka (Momoko) are not in the list, it's really not a surprise.
Miyazawa is a surprise to me. She's only back in light training. I don't think she's training with the team yet. Not really sure what Ikeda wants to see in her at this moment. You would think it would be more beneficial to see someone else - Miyazawa will recover from this injury in time for the Olympics but there are no guarantees that she regains her good form and also there are risks getting another injury after a long layoff which tends to happen after a big injury. So a bit of a risk and worrying if he relys on soley on Miyazawa for that role/position
With that exclusion of Takahashi as well as the inclusion of Moriya and keeping Kitagawa etc., has Ikeda finally given up the "Kumagai the midfielder" experiment? There are at least two players on each flank who can play wingbacks. So I suspect (or more hope) that they may go back to the three-backs. Ikeda didn't really fancy Nakashima anyway but going back to the three at the back could be one of the reasons for her exclusion. We can't play out-and-out wingers (which is what she looks like from the limited time I saw her play) as one of the front-three in this formation. The wingback provides the width and the attacking wide players have to tuck in sometimes as midfielders as Miyazawa and Fujino do. That's how we get away with a double pivot (Hasegawa and Nagano). We can't have Nakashima just hugging touchline waiting for the ball in this formation.
Tomorrow's games: WE League Beleza vs Mynavi 15:00 Nojima vs Albi 17:30 Nadeshiko League (all games start at 13:00) Shizuoka vs Nagoya Harima vs Orca Ehime vs Speranza
Maybe he just wants to see her adorable smile again. On serious note: I can't stop rewatching her WC goals - she's literally devouring space in counter-attacks, it's like Hinata activates her super power and other women on the pitch are instantly put into slow mode...
Japan is playing with Sweden now in group B France is playing with Mexico in group A. - Win will take little Nadeshiko to the final game vs. group A winner (Netherlands or France) - draw or lose lands them in 3rd place match against runner-up of group B (Netherlands, France or Mexico) here's recap from matchdays 1 & 2 *error, NED has +1 GD, France has 0 GD, MEX has -1 GD
lol -- Little Nadeshiko have scored in the 78th minute (U16 matches are only 80 minutes long). 1:0 (Shikida Niko)
My previous post last year: Final Beleza (Shikida) 1-0 Cerezo Shikida Niko can be the next Miyazawa or Shimizu (?) about ten years later. She is still 14 years old; small but fast and aggressive.
Nadeshiko League 1 H.T....Ehime 0-1 Speranza (Fukasawa) Poor stuff from the home side...too many misplaced passes...too many Ehime players having a bad day They need a good talking to in the break
Nadeshiko League 1 F.T...Ehime 1-1 Speranza A truly woeful performance from Ehime F.C. Ladies...most of the teams technical skills seem to gave deserted them today ( even young Tago was struggling to control the ball)...they looked like a bunch of strangers who had never played together before...watching play it was difficult to see what the coaches plan was other than a lot of long forward balls that went nowhere..newcomer Matsuoka equalised with the last kick of the game and that was the only positive this viewer could see this morning Played 3...Won 0...Draw 2...Lost 1 Edit (daylight saving time starts tomorrow so hopefully that is the last of the 4am KO's)
Today's result: WE League Beleza (Kinoshita, Suzuki, Iwasaki) 3-0 Mynavi Nojima 0-1 Albi (Kawasumi) Nadeshiko League Shizuoka 0-1 Nagoya (OG) Harima 0-2 Orca (Matsuo, Miaki) Ehime (Matsuoka) 1-1 Speranza (Fuakasawa)
