Yeah, because he did that in his first 4 years in office

Support amongst black men is somewhere between 15 to 20% now. Up from the usual Republican support which is around 10%. All these African-Americans must be Nazis too, huh??!!

There were thousands and thousands of Nazi Dutch collaborators in WWII also. There's always collaborators.

Exactly. The idea that people wouldn't do the same thing now is part of the problem. This idea of 'it couldn't happen here' only serves to guarantee it WILL happen here because people don't recognise the signs.

Once people accept the idea that there are no such things as facts and that a politicians job is to provide a list of people to blame for societies ills, you'll inevitably get fascism at some point.

I remember seeing this many years ago...

Cut the crap. Trump wanted to court-martial admiral William McRaven and general Stanley McChrystal for criticizing him in the press. He desisted only when Milley promised he will handle the matter. And the threat was so real that Milley had to contact McRaven and McChrystal and tell them to shut up. Both Esper (who was also present) and Milley confirmed the story.
This is what happened in his first term, to make it possible for all the irresponsible morons to say now that "well, he didn't become a dictator between 2017-2020": Trump would constantly try to go full fascist, but because his cabinet still had sane people in it (republicans as they were), they would try to dissuade him. But if we lucked out in 2017-2020, this does not mean such a gamble would work a second time.

The sad reality is Hillary Clinton was right with her "deplorables" comment. In pretty much every country and every group there is a significant percentage of individuals which are just malicious and devoid of any ethical compass. If there weren't, no dictatorship would be able to exist, because you need a good number of amoral people to staff the army, the police and the administration, which would be willing to crack down on their fellow citizens. Trump is simply feeding from that trough.

In this case, it is more about sexism and misogyny. This is specifically what Obama indicated.

It IS true but it's still a dumb politician that actually says it out loud. In fact it's probably worse because it's true. If she said that in my hearing I wouldn't think she means me so it wouldn't bother me. I'd think she means somebody else in the same way that these black people think that Trump isn't talking about them... he means those other black people, Mexicans or whatever.

Yes, but I am not a politician, so I can say as loud as possible. ;)

Thing is, it had become the elephant in the room. It wasn't getting said by those whose jobs it was to say it; so eventually it became dumber to avoid saying it than it was to say it. There's no reason to think it cost her anything at all, after all...

I went to see the movie in LA. Over 4 hours long. In a lot of cases the Vichy French were as hard on the French as the Nazi’s. Especially towards the end when they had to know they were facing reprisals.

The Vichy had to show they were as devoted to the Nazis as the Nazis were. In order to save themselves, the local collaborators have to do their best to convince the leopards that they eat faces too. If they don't, they know their faces will get eaten (which will eventually happen anyway, to their surprise).

Do you struggle with English and something is lost in translation or are you really just an idiot?

Well to be fair, it could be both. English maybe his 3rd language. However, that fluency does not mean he can't have dumb conservative takes in each language.

Yeah but he donated all his presidential paychecks while in office (...don't look at all the grifting and theft and law breaking he did to make far more than that though...)! Have we seen Karamel do that? Do we see her with a big check for real Americans? No! Save us from a TotL!

    ....that's sarcasm, Dave.

TOTL was and still is about the public, not leaders. If the phrase bugs you, look in a mirror lol.
That too. Oh, we so WANT it to be true so it must be true! Lol

The question is WHY is it doing well? Is is because it is a quality, well-managed company with considerable growth potental and upside? NO.

Is it because it is a way for foreign dictators and other grifters to buy enough stock to maybe get a sweet future deal on setting up an illegal deportation camp and company? Maybe.

Is it because investors expect Trump to make all other media outlets illegal upon taking office? Except maybe X-twitter? Maybe they expect Elon to buy it because he's already shown a propensity for stupidity? Maybe.

Either way, there is no logical, market-based reason for the valuation. Other than expectations of fascism.

Okay, so if/when Trump wins the election you are claiming he will start putting his political opponents into concentration camps, correct??

If he wins I will quote you to see if you were right

Great in what context ? This thing got up to almost $80 not long ago. If you talk about the last few days bounce from the teens then sure.

This Truth social media thing isn't going anywhere. That is clear. Specially after Elon bought Twitter. If this was a Democrat doing this, the right wing narrative would be that it's just a scheme to funnel money to the candidate. You know ... pay to play.
