🚨🔵 Como and Sporting have reached an agreement for Spanish RB Ivan Fresneda to join the Italian side.Fee will be €10m package on loan with obligation to buy.Details to follow on player side in order to get the deal sealed. pic.twitter.com/IQrwLHObMw— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 8, 2025 10m for a player that hasn't played for 1.5 seasons, not bad - basically we'll reinvest that into Alberto who seems all but guaranteed. Yesterday defensively he was pretty solid, but he seems very limited when going forward. All the best to him though. Hopefully we upgrade our keeper and would be nice to add a left winter as Edwards seems to not count and Quenda needs to be on the right, rotating with Geny. A midfielder would be good too.
I'm happy just for some of his key clearances against Benfica the other day and was good against Porto. So he can leave on a high
Looks like the negotiations for Alberto stalled. We offered 9+2 for him and it looked like it was done, but Brighton offered 12+2 and now Guimaraes are stalling
Yes that could work in our favour. Record saying we are asking Farense the conditions for Ricardo Velho. He has a 15m release clause and they rejected a 6m bid in the summer for him
Juventus apparently entered the race to sign Alberto 🚨🇵🇹 EXCL: Juventus have entered the race with Sporting to sign Alberto Costa from Vitória.Sporting leading the race with €12m bid, fav option for the player despite bid from Brighton this week. 🟢🦁Juventus are ready to compete with new formal bid to follow 👀 @MatteMoretto pic.twitter.com/W1cSvSYkul— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 11, 2025
Of course. Because Varandas doesn't understand the concept of a buyout clause. Dude is always low balling. Every transfer is a ********ing saga.
🚨❌ Iván Fresneda’s move to Como, in jeopardy and on the verge of collapsing at this stage.Sporting could lose the race soon for Alberto Costa with Juventus closing in on the deal… and the manager still doesn’t give the green light to Fresneda’s exit, happy with his attitude. pic.twitter.com/qXzpnSMHXQ— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 13, 2025 If Fresneda stays, then at least he'll help defensively, he had a couple good performances. We can reinforce other positions, maybe invest in a proper GK and a left winger.
He offers nothing going forward and gives away possession too easily. Maybe he’ll be a good player one day, but right now we don’t have a single player to play RB or LB. And we need a center mid and wing.
I think Edwards is gone, so we ideally sell him and buy a replacement for winger. For center mid I'd really like to bring back Essugo, but if not, he definitely has a shot next season.
Essugo has been killin it in Spain. We absolutely SHOULD try to bring him back now since we have zero depth in that position.
Don't think so, he's just been playing really well and linked to a lot of big clubs. Just seems like a Mateus Fernandes situation to me. Would love to have him back, but I think they are looking for a quick sale.
Welcome Rui Silva - he joins for 4.75m euros + 1m in objectives. Contract until 2028 Let's hope he at least has arms
Can't possibly be as bad as the frangueiro Bosnian or the Uruguayan who can't use his feet, defend set pieces or take goal kicks.
We apparently received an offer of 18m euros from a premier league club for Geny. Would you consider selling and for what price? He's a good dribbler and has been clutch against Benfica but...
As a player I'd say long term yes, but we're already a thin squad at the best of times and we clearly don't have a replacement lined up, so I'd not want to at this stage.
