I hope it will be just part of a re-arrangement in the midfield: they could maybe move Giada Greggi in a 6 position, for instance (although, the last indications, when Roma took a goal from Inter because of a lost ball by Greggi in front of their box, don't suggest that she's the best choice as an holding midfielder either ). It's a shame that Roma lose Kumagai just when they're battling for the 3rd place in the league and they would actually need some reinforcements instead!
Good DMs are hard to find. Looks like Giugliano will be moved to no.6 role... though I guess she will not like this very much. Roma need reinforcements as soon as possible but will get even bigger headache if Minami or/and Viens gonna decide to leave.
Considering how crucial Giugliano has been in the offensive department in the last two seasons, permanently moving her to an holding midfielder position would be a crime. She's the captain and she would do as she's asked, in an emergency situation, but I am not sure it would actually be beneficial to Roma. Kang's move has been very harmful to their end of the season.
Kuhl at DM looked quite decent today vs. Juventus... even if only for 30 mins. Perhaps Spugna will make her fit into that role.

Verena Hanshaw (AS Roma) ------- > West Ham United Hanshaw's a Hammer ⚒️— West Ham United Women (@westhamwomen) January 21, 2025 Looks like Rehanne Skinner is still searching for that mythical player that will solve all her coaching problems. Hanshaw transfer to Roma was a miss... it highly doubtful she will do better in West Ham with even less skilled backline.
Naomi Girma (San Diego Wave) ------------> Chelsea According to The Athletic a record breaking transfer fee.

Kerolin (NC Courage) ------------ > Manchester City We're delighted to welcome @kerolinnicolii to the Club on a permanent deal 🩵 pic.twitter.com/mHBE13LOPR— Manchester City Women (@ManCityWomen) January 22, 2025 Man C transfers are baffling to say the least... the club is in dire need of quality defender(s) but they sign a striker and central midfielder (Oyama)
Indeed... but Taylor's long term "game plan" may see Man C out of the LM in the very short term. 3rd time in last 4 years mind you
Maybe Kerolin because one winger, Hemp, has a knee problem, and another, Kelly, could be leaving soon. So they need a winger--but I agree that another good defend perhaps should have been a higher priority.

The player was presented to the fans ahead of this afternoon’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. After joining Chelsea, Girma said “I’m so happy and really excited to be here. It doesn’t feel real. “There are a lot of things about Chelsea that made me want to come here – the culture, the winning mentality, staff and players. It’s a top environment to learn and grow in. “Right now, that’s what I’m looking to do. It was an easy choice for me.” Also more quotes from Girma and Chelsea from this article: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cp8qmeleld4o
Ezekiel Motunrayo (Naija Ratels FC) --------> Valencia CF Fenna Kalma (Wolfsburg) --------------- > PSG Paulina Tomasiak (UKS Staszkówka Jelna) --------------- > GKS Górnik Łęczna Tomasiak (age 23) is one of the most unfulfilled talents in Polish football. She excelled in the youth national teams but her development was halted by the need to help out on the family farm, causing her to play for a second division club close to home instead of a transfer to the top division. I'm very curious to see how her career will turn out now, because Tomasiak while coached by pros has every predisposition to still make it big.
