Speaking for myself -- and I work in DC where commutes are horrible unless you live in the city -- when we started working from home during the pandemic, people realized how much of their life they got back. In my case, about 3 hours a day. TBH, I go into the office 3 days a week on average because I feel like a prisoner if I'm in my home for 7 days out of the week. But I think a lot of people like how much better their lives have gotten when WFH is part of the deal. I'mm retiring in a few months -- mostly because I'm ready, but also because I have no interest in spending another 4 years in government with Trump in charge.
