Last 29th of December, and after many years of interval, the Galiza NT played once again! They received and won over Uruguay by 3-2 Here you can check out their squad: http://www.vieiros.com/seleccions/sel_convocada.php?Ed=44 Also, the site (obviously written in Gallego...but any fluent portuguese reader can easly understand) gives all other information that you might wnat to know (fans, comments on the game, history of the Nt, their symbology, etc...etc!): http://www.vieiros.com/seleccions/ Viva a Galiza!
They speak Galician, that is very similar to portuguese. Portuguese and Galician were the same language until the 15th century, it was called Galician-Portuguese.
I am kind of curious why Spain so is focused on putting out National teams for states? Catalan, Galiza, Basque. Just focus on SPAIN you retards.
It´s not states. Spain is a state that includes all Iberian nations with the exception of Portugal. Galiza, Catalonia and the Basque country are nations.
They are not Nations. Basque is constantly trying to gain indepence from Spain. A terrorist group called the ETA fights on behalf of that mission.
They are nations. Spain is state that includes several nations (like Belgium for example). Portugal is a nation-state. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nations
Of course they are regions of Spain, but they are also nations. Try to understand the concept of nation and state (and the history of Spain and it´s peoples). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nations
Because it´s the only free encyclopedia that I know. A lot of articles are tendencious but not these ones that explain simple definitions.
Okay. I understand what you are trying to get across. But if I were to ask somebody from Galiza where they are from, they would not say Galiza. They would most likely say Spain. Now if I were to ask the same question to someone from the United Kingdom, they wouldn't say the United Kingdom. They would say England, or Wales...etc.
ok sorry for saying its not but i hate and my pet peeve is something that is inaccurate. someone clarify this please.
by definition freis seems right, but definitons do not mean much if those people concerned do not relate to it...ie. Basque's might portray the image of them being a separate 'people' or 'nation' within Spain, but is that what the majority really consider themselves..... heck, maybe Canada is a state of nations.... newfie's, maritimers, quebecors, ontarians and everyone else. anyways..
Not in t-dot you wont see them but really the u.s always thinks were their bitches and we shuld be a part of there nation> remember this infamous clip by cnn> http://www.youtube.com/?v=hv0hbGDXJlc
True. Still, in the Basque country and Catalonia independentist movements are well alive and strong (in Galicia not so much but they exist) .
