There are a lot of ways I could have titled this thread, including "the future of American soccer", but I thought this was the most neutral. Here's the story: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/21/us/21fugees.html [Apologies for cross-posting from the Youth forum.]
This story makes me so proud to be from Atlanta/Decatur. I hope US Soccer is helping them and some college is scouting them as players to grant scholarships to.
Man, talk about poetic justice that the town of Clarkston is gonna have a movie made showing them to be the backass narrowminded hillbilly racists that they are. And a book, too. More importantly, great for the kids. Hope they get their field, not to mention some more important parts of the American dream.
