Bells spent too much time in the treatment room this fall. Other than that, he'd have a shout to be on the list. Rooney and Bent
which category is that? never mind. Either of them has been outstanding this year. for young player, it's Bent.
Two questions: 1) Does the award consider all performances in all competitions? Only club competitions? Only domestic club competitions? Only EPL? 2) Are people restricted from voting for Rooney twice? Seems to me that if he wins best overall, he's by definition the best under 23 also.
Rooney and Bent... Shame Cattermole didn't play the full season, because I'm certain he would have got a shout if he did. Its probably his for next season if he carries on in the same form.
Terry is still a players player, strong get stuck into em type. He'll win the players vote again this year. Rooney will walk the young players.
Seems to me that Kevin Nolan should have made the finalist list. Probably would not win it, but I think his season was in the top six.
I don't think so, although maybe ahead of Lampard, who has been somewhat poor since January. But since both (Lampard and Nolan) are goal-scoring midfielders, and Lampard has more goals, it probably wouldn't happen. Cole is having his best season with Chelsea, probably his best as a pro. I think he certainly deserves the nomination. Surprised there's no Spurs on the list, maybe Keane or Carrick?
Gerrard by a mile for Player of the year. He is just different gravy and, in my opinion, the best player in the world at the moment (Yes, that includes Ronaldhino). For Young Player I would go for Rooney with Ronaldo a close second. Next year predictions? Watch for Van Nistelrooy and Michael Owen to have blinders after injury plagued and disapointing year, but youngster to watch for (especially if Henry goes, which he will) is Van Persie. If he can get his head screwed on he will be shit hot.
