Down to three: Andriy Shevchenko, Thierry Henry, and Ronaldinho.

Which player do you think will win?

I think Ronaldinho will win the FIFA award and Sheva to win the Balon d'Or.

Andriy Shevchenko. Which one is more prestigious, the fifa world player of the year or the balon d'or?

FIFA World Player of the Year is more prestigious.
So my money is on Ronaldinho.

As for the Ballon d'Or, I think Henry has the edge over Shevchenko.

No sorry, FIFA already narrowed it down to the three mentioned above.
So, gifted as he is, C. Ronaldo has no chance whatsoever.

    Fifa - Henry
    Golden ball - Deco

I think its stupid that in a european cup year, and also champions league, in the nominees look what they have done:

Henry - outstanding in the premiere, a flaw in the euro and not so good either in the champions league.
Shev - outstanding in the calcio, flaw in the champions league, wasnt even in the euro2004!
Ronaldinho - outstanding in the spanish league. Didnt play euro, didnt play champions league!

Deco - outstanding in the champions league, 2 goals, 6 assists, man of the match in the final, lead his team to the title. Euro 2004, man of the match vs Russia and Spain, played vs England as a right defender in the extra time, lead his team to the final.
Oh, but he played for a portuguese club, so no prize right? It doesnt sell as much as in Spain, England and Italy, curiously the 3 countries with nominees.

I think you have it reversed. The Balon d'Or is the most prestigious award. The FIFA award is a fairly new award that rarely picks the best player.
