this means nothing though, because Morientes agent has been negotiating with the kop. http://www.marca.es/edicion/noticia/0,2458,549930,00.html
Real Madrid is probably just posturing to increase the fee. Morientes is unhappy in Madrid due to lack of time on the pitch if I understood correctly the other day. Real's got enough problems now without having discontented players saying they want to play elsewhere. Whether he comes to us or not remains to be seen, but I bet he goes somewhere in January.
yeah, i agree ,Morientes will definetly leave Madrid this year. But sadly I dont see us gettin Morientes ,since thell want around 10 million pounds for him,and liverpool dont have the money (By jan,we will get around 15 million pounds for the champions league, but lets not forget the reds are planing to build new stadium).I can only see Morientes coming if Morgans bid is take (think its about 100 million pounds),but i dont see that happenin this year!!!
The stadium finance is separate from our budgets for team affairs. Whilst I agree that Liverpool will not go near a deal if it's heading for double figures, I think you will find that the eventual outcome will see us picking him up for about £6m.
Wouldn't it be nice! He's a classy player getting and like to see him play for us. Getting up there in football years but still very effective. Here's the latest goss. http://www.4thegame.com/features.d/feature/159918/?cC=1 Morientes for Liverpool....MO for the Toon.......!!!
He's 28 - should be at his peak and good for a full four-year contract. Perfect time to buy him, especially given the relative youth and inexperience of our squad (something that has been an issue since the summer of 2002 and which none of our recent signings have addressed).
Yeah, i agree!!!We are talking about last seasons Champions league top scorer, remember!!???I think It will take 12 million pounds for Morientes ,but lets not forget that only a couple of days ago he also said that he really wanted to Return to Monaco(but they dont have the money ) ,so its not as easy as everybody think. The only thing that favours us is the fact that there is a spansih coach and there are 4 spanish players,so he knows it wont be so hard for him to settle in Liverpool.Another factor is the champions league .If we qualify for the next phase, then there is a greater chance of him coming.I really hope Morientes comes ,but there alot of things that have to be solved before we can even think of buying him(biggest problem of all,THE MONEY!!!)
Can't believe I am quoting you (whichever one you are) but . . . Real ought to give us Morientes for £6m and to tidy up the exchange a little we will give them a real *hot prospect* right winger, who is a little worse for the wear at the moment, but is a real hum-dinger when he is healthy. And unlike most guys they have been signing from England, the lad I have in mind already knows Spanish and should be able to settle right into the side!
If they're willing to accept 6 million and EHD for Morientes, then why not just offer them 5 million for Morientes straight up? Those are roughly equivalent deals. Hell, maybe we can threaten to send Diao their way and they'll drop the price even more.
think Rm are also looking at what wages they will save if they sell him.. reputed to be many millions over the remainder of his contract. Dont think we will sign him though, think it is just a cover for rafa to sneak us someone else from somewhere else... divert attention from who he is really after...
Do u mean Mista???why wouldnt he want to sign last years Champions league top scorer,i think any manager would want him in there team(except Real Madrid),dont u think????I dont understand what u are trying to say! .I think hes his first option(Top target),but he must have more players in mind, just incase he doesnt get Morientes.
Methinks he meant Antonio Nunez. Which would be kind of funny. As to the price tag - Real want to make a deal, Morientes wants a move and Liverpool will not go near him if the money goes into Owen territory. After blowing £14m on Cisse, they want to make savings on any strengthening up front. So believe me when I say that LFC will walk away from any deal that does not come in under £8m.
