Does this Rhumba place have GolTV? They just picked up the La Liga rights and are gonna be showing 3 games this weekend. Otherwise I'll probably stay put and watch on my Dish.
Not for a couple of years, so I hear. You can always come over to my place Barca v Osasuna, Atletico v Valencia, and Malaga v Madrid all this weekend.
In the city or the burbs? I'd like to see some La Liga games this year for sure. Especially the derby when it rolls around.
You could probably help me. I'm thinking of getting satellite. Which service is best for getting soccer?
Well, either one...but i'm almost always in the city. both have dish. You can bet i'll be throwing some sort of bash when El Derbi comes around.
Cool. We will talk on this offline then. Good chance I would have a little one or two in toe of course. But they can hold their liquor pretty well and know the game better then most!
Personally I prefer Dish. It doesn't get some of the PPV events you can get on DirecTV, but it's the only service with GolTV (which carries the Spanish and Italian leagues) in English and Spanish and has the best version of MLS Shootout (ie you never miss a game that is carried somewhere like you often do with DirecTV). You cna get england and Scotland freindlies and Euro quallys occasionally (bleh) but I'd bet they'll carry the Euro2004 package too. Hell, the carried the frigging cricket world cup, they'd better carry Euro2004. I have Tve from spain to watch Estudio estadio and the odd Segunda division/Spanish national team match, but with GolTv on the 150 tier now I might drop the package and save $25 extra a month. Oh, and there is FSW of course.
Just be aware it'll be a partisan crowd. Possibly the only barca fan in attendance will be my pop (If he even shows!) ...this may finally be the initiative I need to start Orgullo Chicago/Los Intochables/whatever among chicago Madrid/Fire fans. Of which there are more than a few.
I have directv. It definately has an ample supply of soccer with FSW and MLS shootout. You can also get a lot of Mexican league games on the spanish channels. But if soccer is the main reason your buying your dish, I would probably go with Dish Network too.
I'd love to watch them on TV in the comfort of my house as well.... but unfortunately ( ) I will have to take a 45 minute ride on a train filled with strangers before I can see Atletico and Madrid in person .... and it's going to take me a whole couple of hours to get to the December 7th match between Barca and Madrid. I lead a tough life, but sadly enough I am not as privileged those of you who can afford satellite tv or children.
Yeah it's off topic, but do either Dish or DirecTV offer any package where you can get Polish First Division matches and Poland internationals?
I've got it now. There's not any programming on it, but the station's in my lineup. I think you need Para Todos to get it. Same price, but you've got to have a newer dish that can point at at least two satellites. Call and change over is my advice.
You can get PolSat 2 on the Dish network's A la Carte International Programming. Check PolSat 2's website to see if they carry Polish footy. I think Canal + has those rights but they may allow PolSat 2 to distribute the telecast, not sure. As far as which mini-dish service to get, depends on what you like outside of soccer. I've had Dish Network for the past three (3) years and the only complaint is due to the occasional interference from a storm. Usually no longer than a few minutes for the Dish to find the signal through the Storm clouds. One of the reasons I did purchase the Dish network was due to the A la Carte package and the fact that at that time, they showed more soccer. I have the Dish 150 package and with Fox Sports World and GolTV, I've got soccer 24-7. Hala, before you start planning a watch party for the Derby between the Real et Barca, you should wait to see if GolTV will have the US rights to it. You remember what happened the past season where no one North America was able to legally see the telecast. Hopefully it won't be a problem but you now how these guys get with certain matches.
You know I'd have checked on this already GolTV does have the rights to it. They may make it PPV on Dish for 15 bucks or so, but they'll have it either way.
