Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] The most common saying at the moment is "Six and the City".
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Gol Levante! leading 2-1 after going one down in the 4th minute against Sociedad!
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Levante in danger of dropping points, it has to happen some time but I kind of like the run they are on, especially if we are not in first, better them than you know who. Currently 2-2 in extra time almost over.
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Wow, Levante win 3-2 after Real Sociedad leveled it at 2-2 in the 86th minute.
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Very happy for them, I genuinely cheered for when they scored the late winner.
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Tw @OptaJose Opta Sports
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] It's just a phenomenal story.
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] The blaugrana are still leaders, even if it's not us. edit: Villareal are so pathetic this season.
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Just read that Levante's Juanfran got a red after the go-ahead goal and after he'd already been subbed out, that's weird.
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Yeah, they REALLY are. I attended the game tonight at the Bernabeu. I'm gonna need a long hot shower to get rid of THAT stink. I gotta get it all off...the adoration of Mou, the sympathetic whining along with their precious #7, and surprisingly enough (at least to me) the anti-Barça chants. I never expected them to concern themselves as much as they did with us.
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] A real shame to see Villareal struggling so badly this season, I hope they turn it round. The Levante story is great, we all know it's not going to last but its fun while it does. Man City are the real deal, I note the British media are referring to them as the Barca of the EPL. Whilst that is going too far they are team not to under estimate. I wish we had signed Aguero (yes, I know that was never going to be feasible, just expressing a wish). PSG are linked with a 50 million euro move for Hazard, I think Man City and PSG are both going to be big threats in the CL in the coming years.
Re: "No one has given us a hiding like this before." The Other Teams' Thread [R] The word "in" in the thread title makes it sound like Man City conceded the goals. And wasn't the name of the show "Sex and the City"? Bah, I'm always nit-picking, huh? Guess I'm still ticked at Cologne getting dumped out of the Pokal.
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Funnily enough I, too, have been wondering how City would do on a cold winter's night in Stoke. The big test will occur in late-March. Question is how cold will it be in Stoke by then, and if it's scheduled as a "lunchtime kickoff" will the experience for City no longer matter?
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] it gets worse ... rossi out for six months with a torn ACL
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] It might be time to keep an eye on this Bernardo fellow... This was the first goal in an 8-3 rout that overturned a 3-1 first-leg deficit in the Sudamericana Cup vs. Aurora, a Bolivian club that just wants to go hide under a rock for awhile. Pretty sick goal: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toS-CcL2bJU]Bernardo del Vasco Da Gama vs Aurora[/ame]
That goal was sick! Your post got me thinking who was the last Barcelona player who transferred directly from a non-European club and was a success with the team? I don't mean flame outs like Kerrirson and Henrique or someone like Messi either who transferred at age 13 I have no idea about the answer, just thinking how rare it is...
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Well Suarez scored twice against Stoke, away from home, on a wet, miserable, cold Wednesday evening, so quite clearly he must be the greatest player on the planet.
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] No comments on what happens at :52? Somebody needs to make a gif out of that and put it in an Alice in Wonderland film.
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Given that someone has already deemed these Vasco celebrations gif-worthy, I'm sure we'll be seeing the chicken dance/Prince impersonation soon...
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Levante hasn't really played most of the top teams yet, except for a Ronaldo-less LPB who were toying with them until they had a man sent off. I'd like to get excited but unfortunately I think this run is 95% down to luck and easy early schedule.
Re: Six in the City." The Other Teams' Thread [R] Ronaldo was playing, and he got out-sprinted by a 36 year old who weighs 93 kilos... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgHyovREvSg"]el sprint de Ballesteros - YouTube[/ame]
probably saviola? the saviola deal turned very sour in the end, but he did well his first season or two and was a big fan favourite.
Good question, I really wish Riquelme was given a bigger chance at Barca, seems in many way like a Barca player, but then we had Xavi and Iniesta in the cantera. As some of you may recall, the coach val gaal regarded him as a political signing (he was a huge star in Argentina playing 7 years for Boca - nowadays players have one or two good years and are expected to sign in Europe - small credit to Neymar that he is waiting just a bit). But I suppose Saviola is the answer, though I still dream of Maxi Lopez on my dream forward line with Ezquerro and Gudjohnsen.
