Could prove to be the best move possible: CL and/or EL ball, a title challenger, a sell-to-buy culture, a dozen-plus BL1-level league and cup games a season (Ajax, PSV, AZ, Twente, an in-form Utrecht or even NEC). An excellent springboard for a Top 4 move in 2-3 years, maybe their EL sides if he excels
A piece stating that Inter could send him to Ipswich Town on loan next season: https://www.trivenetogoal.it/2024/0...inter-e-poi-lipswich-town-in-prestito/213758/
THAT would be interesting, to say the least. McKenna is a remakable coach and has form for taking a flier on a "big club's fringe player" and signing him long-term; e.g. Omari Hutchinson
I remember Paolo Vanoli as a player Parma and Fiorentina. He was a good leftback and left mid and won some trophies too...... Parma UEFA Cup: 1998–99 Coppa Italia: 1998–99 Supercoppa Italiana: 1999 Fiorentina Coppa Italia: 2000–01
[QUOTE="THAT would be interesting, to say the least. After back-to-back promotions, we need to address the center of the park. I'm a bit concerned about Luongo and Morsy making the step up to the EPL.
Oh gawd. If I have to spend a season rooting for Feynie and PSV players, I might have to get a new National Team to support....
D'oh. I'd like to add to the Tessmann looking for money (Inter) that he may not be that kind of guy. He bypassed a starting spot as a placekicker for his Godfather at Clemson which could have easily led to an NFL career. He could have chosen a big team instead of Venezia. Maybe now he think's he's ready for a big team but I wouldn't assume it's mostly money related.
One of the students I'm teaching at the moment is from Venice and is a massive football fan. He's an AC Milan supporter but his uncle is a Venezia season ticket holder and the lad attends half a dozen games a season himself. According to them, the fan consensus is that they hope he gets sold this summer, mostly because the club need the money to strengthen in other areas but also because while Tessmann is very good on the ball, he's not great defensively and is inconsistent, which isn't going to cut it in Serie A. FWIW Edit: They personally see him as a project for a big club, at best, and have doubts about whether Inter are really interested in him as opposed to farming him out and selling an appreciated asset in 2-3 seasons
Stay in Italy Tanner. That should be the path forward. American mids no not succeed in England. Weston failed, Tyler kinda meh. Even our cyborg Michael Bradley sucked.
Yeah, I'm wary of an Ipswich move. Our guys have generally not fared that well in loans to relegation-fodder EPL teams. Why not just stay at Venezia on loan, who also figure to be battling relegation but have a lot of respect for him and a clear spot in the lineup for him? Or go to Torino with his former coach? Feyenoord could be good, but I'm not sure that beating up on the lesser Eredivisie teams on one of the best teams does him more good than, again, staying and playing in Serie A.
While I agree with pretty much all of that, Tyler was very good in the EPL while he was healthy. He was arguably Leeds best player. He has been injured for a year and a half though so maybe people forget how good he actually was....
At best. Beyond a season or two as depth with garbage minutes of cups of coffee, he's extremely unlikely to play there IMO Then again a) what do I know and b) I'll be to eat crow on this
This piece from today states Inter will loan him to Everton: https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/ser...venezia-prova-a-consolarsi-con-tutino-1990129
Yeah.... Adams was up and down w/ RBL after returning from his long injury but he was fantastic for Leeds... He has always been a beast on D and WRT ball recovery but he showed some serious improvement in his ability to break lines via the pass in transition. I am dubious that he will ever be the kind of CDM that controls the game by pinging the ball around the pitch... but he looks to be above average in all the other important categories. That being said... health is obviously a major concern. We saw Johnny do fantastic in La Liga during the second half of the season.... we really need him to continue to develop. Then you add in Tessmann (Musah too?) and maybe we finally can get some decent depth at CDM.
