....documentary is playing on the Sundance Film channel on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 8PM Eastern. I've enjoyed these guys since their first album and this film should be pretty good. BTW, I should have included "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" in my list of great cover songs.
Crazy Texans and your Central time zones. Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns Sat. 11/20 9PM EST, 1 hour 45 mins AJ Schnack profiles TMBG. 9pm EST for us Yankee commie pinkos on the East coast. Operation Tivo has commenced.
Serves me right for trying to post the start time from memory rather than actually doing the research and looking it up.
This flick is well worth the 2 hours spent... I've got several friends and one family member who are in that film...anyone who's spent 10 minutes involved in the downtown or Brooklyn music scene has a ball playing, "Hey! There's So-And-So!". Semi-tangential to this thread is my thumbs-up on Flans' wife's new play "People Are Wrong" currently running in NYC. It's really a weird and fun tale of a smalltown cult. I'll leave it at that.
On a related note: did TMBG use the "video" from homestarrunner.com as the actual video for "Experimental Film"?
