Most people have observed the MF performences in camp have been close to: 1) Mihailovic 2)Lletget, Canouse, Roldan 3) Trapp 4) Acosta 5) Bradley Interested to see who starts
And they are 100 percent right. The tickets should be $5-10 so you can get 20,000+ more people showing up. College semester is just starting, no exams right now and its sunday night. Jay Berhalter has lost his mind. Bradley as the future? insulting.
It takes skill to look at something and see what could be. Some people can look at a plot of land and see a beautiful park, house or golf course. Some people can look at a young horse and see a future winner. Some people see a young musician and see a future impresario. Some people can only see something for what it is today and can’t project into the future. Those latter people tend to pick too much of the USMNT. Regardless of what quality somebody has today, we are doing the team and the program a disservice using up spots with people who clearly will not be in the fold come next WC. If we need veterans in camp then invite them as consultants or mentors. Fill the locker room with guys who will peak in a few years, not a few years ago. The job is to get ready for a game years in the future, not this weekend.
i know. But my point still stands. I do wonder how much of the Gold Cup he will play in. Nearly every game perhaps? Then again; Horvath will be challenging to have a game or 2.
Said it in another thread, but anyone who thinks Bradley isn't starting tonight is out of their mind. I said after T&T I wouldn't watch any matches the "big guns" are still a part of, thus I won't be watching tonight. But knowing we are 1.5 years from the worst failure in US soccer history, and still trotting out Captain backpass, is unbelievable to me.
We're seeing posters with Trapp, Bradley, and Roldan. So I'm guessing Mihailovic won't be starting in spite of impressing. Unless they're force-fitting Roldan at a-wing again to his detriment. Like in politics, a decision was made ahead of time who the best option(s) for the US were, and they have to do with money + connections not serving public good. This is why they're so resistant to let you see what's going on behind closed doors.
I wonder how much the ticket sales - the lack thereof - has to do with seeing Bradley on the roster. Many people would naturally assume that calling him up means he starts.
You think your money matters? Jay Berhalter is already strategizing the next big Brazil/Argentina/Mexico cash grab in a half-empty stadium.
If you are at the game, it might be worth the price to be able to boo Bradley in person. That ought to be something AO can organize
That is Captain BackPass, Sir! .....there is a variant spelling, but this BS is a family joint, yer git ma drift?
My local group of about 15 made the same pledge. Not one of us is meeting or watching this game. Even if MB doesn’t play, his inclusion in camp is enough to keep us away.
