Quite right Motterman. It's an absolute disgrace that Arsenal have been so over-hyped (etc). Better not upset the bitter Arsenal fans though...

Give us a break Teso. Most of us can recognize others' accomplishments.

That is a truly great streak. Firing on all cylinders every time out.

I might take some heat for this, but I always felt like our game winning streak needed an asterisk beside it so as not confuse ones who didn't know that we did lose some games in other competitions. Don't get me wrong though the streak was and still is a massive accomplishment.

44 games is quite impressive. No doubt about it. Almost as impressive as 49. :)

Going undefeated in 49 games consecutively is quite impressive. Too bad Arsenal have never done it.

Of course, going undefeated in 49 consecutive league games is also impressive - just less so.

Hey, I fully understand the need of ManU fans to try to find something their team has done that compares to Arsenal's unrivaled 49 game unbeaten streak.

The streak was 49 Premiership matches. I understand this is mainly poking fun at Arse. But bringingup 1999 over and over again, come on.

Was it really my aim to compare the two directly?

Surely the 44 game unbeaten streak that includes games against the level of competition found in Europe is on another level than that of purely domestic opponents...

Not only that, but you don't have to pick and choose which competitive games count or not....

Ok in all seriousness, here's a highly hypothetical question for any Arsenal fans who drop by this thread. If you had the opportunity, would you change two of your Premiership games from last season into losses if you could get two wins--against us in the FA Cup and Chelsea in the CL? Not that either would have guaranteed a treble, but would you have wanted your team to have that opportunity? Honest question.

Achtung the one problem with this post is youre asking the Arseholes to admit that its possible for them to be beaten. Look at this weekends match and the fact is they played as dirty as we did but ARSEHOLE Wenger and all his merry little followers cried how mean and bad us Mancs are and poor little Reyes was hurt Boo Hoo and used that as why they lost instead of saying nice match we were outclassed today. So you will never get an honest answer to this question.

Where it really counts? WTF? Since when does it really count in the prem but not in the CL and FA Cup?

For all your domestic wins you got one trophy and so did we, your season was much better but you cannot say that you won when it counted... because if CL and FA Cup don't count then play youth strictly in those tournaments... the fact is every club wants European success in addition to domestic sucess...

Guess what? SAF has admited in the past that we were outclassed on a day and certainly does not whine to the press after every loss.

You have a treble of trophies for your unbeaten run. No need to add synthetic "streaks" to it. Arsenal went a whole Premiership season undefeated. Its a great run.
Although, yeah I did think their "Invincibles" tag was pretty funny, given how they fell flat on their face at the first real CL hurdle (uh, no, Celta Vigo does not count) and couldn't beat your lot in three tries. Overhyped, certainly.
Of course, personally I've never been a big fan of streaks in any sports, but whatever. Barca was undefeated in the CL before losing to Juve two years ago. Fat good it did them.

Where it really counts? It didn't count in the FA Cup Semis or in the CL against Chelsea for you guys? And it didn't count that we won the treble through our unbeaten run?

And don't come with all that 'in the past' vibe, Arse ain't on no unbeaten run at the moment are they? Oh, sorry, I forgot! You beat City, didn't you?

There is no way that you can claim that an unbeaten run where we beat superb European clubs and the best of the local sides on the way to 3 trophies is less amazing than a run in which you failed to beat United on a single occasion and were humbled in the two cups.

Thanks, Motts, for bringing this up.

Shut your yap newbie and get a little more cred on theses boards before you call all the Arsenal fans on these baords a bunch of "Arse-holes." Yeah, there were some thngs that happened in the game that we didn't like, but I think most Arsenal fans are now to the point that we just say that we lost and lets move on to the next one.

Yes I would give up two wins in the league for the two wins you mentioned. Undefeated is great and all, but trophies are better. As you mentioned, it isn't a guarantee of trophies, but it is a better shot at them.

Well, in his defence, your club and fans are referred to that way in most of the Red boards on the internet. We don't use these terms much here, and fair play to you in pointing it out to him. I'm sure there are plenty of Arsenal boards out there that refer to us in ways that are much worse than "ManUre" and the like...

There is actually much debate out there right now as to whether to refer to your lot as the "fortywiners" or "the soup chuckers"... ;)

Well, I probably overreacted. But, I do think the respective groups of fans would respect each other more if the name calling went away. I don't really think you enjoy being called Manure.

Manure is old hat invented by Inbreds. Well done to Man utd and Arsenal on these long streaks. I only wish Wenger would have some respect and self-analyse how Arsenal have had there share of luck with penalties and decisions instead of always whinging, Im starting to loose any respect I had for him.

Well, honestly, if I have a problem with what other people call us in their own forum, I don't think I would let them know how much it bothers me. Simply because they wouldn't stop for they know how to get to me, and they would probably use it more often for the same reason... besides, I think it's a bit of bad form to go into another teams forum and complain about something so trivial.

I'm not really blasting you here, actually I'm trying to help you out. Sorry if it sounds a bit more harsh than I intended.
