Of course, who knows what the bashers think about the issue of George Bush reading books -- (this just in, he does) -- so anyone interested? Here is what he is reading now. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...102-4018684-6524949?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Source: http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/004/942wqnjh.asp What do you think the odds are of Mel picking up a copy?
The title of your thread put a smile on my face for some reason. Seriously this could be a great thread. After reading somewhere Clinton's first book after his operation was "No Second Chance," I picked up that book and really enjoyed it.
I suspected it wouldn't be Joseph Heller, John Updike or even Jack London, but Natan Sharansky????!!!! The Israeli Ann Coulter? The man who thinks the political left's only goal is to dig up Brezhnev and put him, Sharansky, into Gulag? What a surprise!
This from Publsiher's Weekly: "Sharansky does not grapple deeply with the current situation in Iraq."
"When there is every reason to doubt that freedom will prevail in the Middle East, this book declares unequivocally that the skeptics are wrong." -- Amazon product description. Guess, Dubya needed a little reassurance.
Why the Bible, of course. That's an easy one. All the answers are in the bible. How to raise a child? - in the bible. How to bake a souffle? - its in the bible. How to run the world in an orderly, christan way- in the bible? I think God had Anton Scalia write the forward.

Not as unsurprising as THIS knee-jerk and superficial reaction. Keep it up. You're carving up more territory in the land of ad hominem attacks, and political marginality. How does it feel?
Oh, please... I know all I need to know about Soviet emigres, still fighting the good fight against the long-dead Kosygin. Sharansky, Guberman and their less-famous clones in the US have become right-wing extremists by virtue of reasoning that this was as far as they could get from Communism. Their energy and their steadfastness was good and useful 15 years ago, but nowadays Old Natanchik's efforts to find justification for the right's expansionism in his glorious past as a bald-headed Moscow dissident are a bit sad. To the point of being Yakov-Smirnoffish.
Well, considering that the man has actually BEEN in the Gulag, it's not an entirely irrational fear, IMO. Certainly at least as rational as the mindless lefties around here who are sure we're only days away from opening up Auschwitz II somewhere in Wyoming. Of course, that's not saying much, is it? Still, you're probably right - much, much smarter to listen to Michael Moore's version of reality.
Actually, the smartest thing is to have your own. BTW, you should appreciate my lack of fears, both rational and irrational, despite the evil elves of Narn who have all but discovered my hiedout and rumor has it they have ammassed the dreaded magical powers of the Wizard of Salador.
Can you find anyone asserting this? Now run along to your playpen where you can make sh** up and get away with it. This is the grownup table.
If this is the "grownup table," then you, of all people, need to start acting like it and give up the childish tantrums!
Did he ever finish "My Pet Goat"? And how did we get to page two before getting to the "My Pet Goat" joke?
