I woke up early this morning and after doing some writing on my book, I had an itch to relive 2002. By the end I was in tears and cursing every Scottish referee I've ever seen blow a whistle. Glorious. [Made my day.]
I started watching over Thanksgiving break (relatives wanted to see me jump on JOB during the intro), but I had to turn it off before the Germany game -- didn't want to get all fired up before dinner.
I would if I had it!! Any chance I could buy a copy? Even a lousy VHS version would be appreciated!!!
Me too. Never felt so mad about one game. Once I get to the handball, I have to turn it off actually, because its just too hard to watch the rest. Berhalter BERHALTER could have been our hero... Scary...
With all the talk we broke it out Saturday night and every memory of the Portugal came flooding back. I watched the replay of Agoos's own goal and can't for the life of me figured out how he did it. He must of had Portugal. I love the joy in their faces and watching Ernie passing the tourch to LD at the end of the German game. They did it their way!!!!!
I still think Sanneh scores. It hurts every time. And for even more WC 2002 memories: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/archive?columnist=davies_michael&root=page2
Re: Whose busted out the "OUR Way" DVD lately? "Our Way" on VHS: http://www.soccerplanetstore.com/soccerplanetstore/800300025.html
Re: Whose busted out the "OUR Way" DVD lately? Yes, would those of you do have the DVD please post their address? I feel like stealing.
I pull out the DVD and watch it every month or two. But if I get pissed off at work I just play the wmp file of the espn highlights that they played at the end of the Germany match. It makes me happy to see it, especially as this world cup mean so much, as I was there in person.
Re: Whose busted out the "OUR Way" DVD lately? You may be right! I went back there thinking I would order it, but there is no "order" button. And it is no longer linked from the main "videos" page like it was a week or two ago. Could they have sold out of the VHS too???
Yeah, every time I watch it it's like I'm seeing all of it for the first time. I'll never forget at the final whistle watching all of the German players collapse from exhaustion on the field. Even though we lost (because of that Scottish f***), it was a match well played by our boys.
It took an incredible display of will power for me to not pop it in the DVD player while some Mexican guys came over to do sheetrock work on my house.
Well, they were doing the ceiling so that would've taken a much greater effort. Like I said, I didn't put the DVD on, I just wanted to.
