I was on a music website earlier this evening, and saw a thread there on R&B that made me start thinking about Mr. Morris' extensive discography. Wanted to see what you all would pick if limited to ten. Here's my ten Stevie tunes, in no particular order: Earth's Creation My Cherie Amour Another Star Superwoman (Where were you when I needed you?) For Once In My Life Boogie On Reggae Woman Superstition Living For The City Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing Too High
Sir Duke As Master Blaster You Are The Sunshine Of My Life Superstition Uptight Living For The City For Once In My Life Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours Higher Ground Just missing the cut are "Do I Do" and "I Believe". We don't talk enough about Stevie Wonder. The mid-70s triumverate of Talking Book, Innervisions and Songs In The Key Of Life is one of the greatest creative spells for a popular music artist in the 20th century.
Wow! Very good idea for a thread. Here's mine in no particular order: My Cherie Amour Superstition Sir Duke Living For The City That Girl You Are the Sunshine of My Life Ribbon in the Sky Signed Sealed Delivered I Was Made To Love Her Uptight (Everything's Alright) Isn't She Lovely Other faves: Stay Gold, Do I Do, For Once in My Life, Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing
I'm not going to try, but I can't help but notice the glaring omission of "Big Brother" on all of these lists. Tsk, tsk.
