Nice piece. Good for him to get therapy and that it's helping him. His "affirmations" though, sound suspiciously like these:
I'm a little surprised Steve Birnbaum has retired so suddenly, but he seems to have fallen out of favor in the DC lineup this season so maybe not. His retirement at 33 seems young to me, but many things ahead for him. He had a great career in MLS, got some National Team looks and can be proud of his career. I can't believe its been 11 years since he joined the league (Damn time passes) and all with DC United. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/dc-united-captain-steven-birnbaum-retires https://www.mlssoccer.com/players/steven-birnbaum/
Before Messi Mania and the Beckham Circus we had Andrew Shue. I bet @don gagliardi hated this guy too.
I actually used to watch Melrose Place. I remember being excited when I first encountered Melrose Avenue in L.A. for that very reason. My desk in my garage mancave office is from a shop selling India imports on Melrose back in the '90s. Admired the tall standing checkout desk with intricate carving and the owner told me I could order my own through his shop, with customized dimensions from India, which I did.
I saw him play in Anaheim with the Anaheim Splash indoor soccer team. I don't remember him being good.
MLS Cavan Sullivan sets record as youngest player on evening when Union ends 10-game winless streak MLS: Five youngest players: 1. Cavan Sullivan, Philadelphia Union (14 years, 293 days) 2. Freddy Adu, D.C. United (14 years, 306 days) 3. Julian Hall, NY Red Bulls (15 years, 190 days) 4. Alphonso Davies, Vancouver (15 years, 257 days) 5. Axel Kei, Real Salt Lake (15 years, 288 days)
I think he only played 5 or 10 minutes but looked like he fit in just fine. Looked very good actually , and his older brother scored while he was in there.
Per wiki, the Sullivan brothers are the grandsons of Klaus Krippendorff (March 21, 1932 – October 10, 2022).
Well, his older brother Quinn scored RIGHT BEFORE Cavan subbed on, not while... as he was about to come on Jim Curtin told him to "do what your brother just did" and he had a pretty impressive shot on goal.
a small city This season (2023-24) has got to be the worst in San Jose sports history, right? #Quakes: 4-18-2, 14 points, last in MLS (24 GP)*#SJSharks: 19-54-9, 47 points, last in NHL pic.twitter.com/1okxPCmvJn— Kasey Kazliner (@kaseyjkaz) July 18, 2024
Karma for the Babbittry that run the “Tenth Largest City” and “Capital of Silicon Valley.” Small town mentality. They’re incredibly lucky to even have the Sharks and the Quakes. They tried their best to destroy both.
The 1996 Galaxy kit is still one of my all time favorites. I love the colors and design because of the Aztec feel and flow. 1996 2024
https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-announces-significant-roster-rule-changes Otherwise known as The Miami rules.
Miami won't even use the new rules smart guy, it's more for teams like the Colorado Rapids As explained here if you actually want to learn something instead of just spreading misinformation
It was at the soccer complex in Cary, NC, currently the home of North Carolina Courage and North Carolina FC, where the New York Times did a photo shoot during the USMNT's preparations for the 2002 World Cup. The water fountain is now at the Hall of Fame in Frisco, TX.
