About the same down here in Austin. The real treat is the heavy humidity (that Phoenix doesn't have).
Same, I’ve been twice and used the hospitality option both times. It really is nice now that they have the new main stand open. Arrive early, have a nice beverage or two and something to eat in a dedicated lounge. Meet a liverpool legend and then when it’s time for the game to start, they usher you into an associated seating area. So no crush or long lines… I really enjoyed it, and felt comfortable bringing my family (with young kids). Others on the board (past and present) have bought tickets informally, which seems to have worked for them, but there are scams that you need to be careful about.
I’ll be there next week. Going from a ‘heat dome’ to the humidity of Texas. Must of pissed someone off
If you’re with family, younger kids, the hospitality package is deffo the way to go. We did this for my brother in laws 50th. We’re lucky we can usually get one of our first two choices a couple times a year via our OLSC.
Well, here’s a vote Biden might yet get. “I don’t care what parts on who Donald Trump touches and who he brags to about it. I love Donald Trump. I would only adore him more personally if he were to molest my mother.” You’ll note he said “mother” and not “wife”. That’s probably because incel virgins don’t relate to women sufficiently well for marriage ever to be the result.
Recent medical studies have concluded that women who put on weight live longer than the men who mention it.
another UK Conservative MP setting the bar low, for himself .... Another senior Tory has become embroiled in the election betting scandal after allegedly placing an £8,000 bet that he would lose his seat. Sir Philip Davies is accused of betting he would lose his Shipley seat in West Yorkshire at the upcoming election. “What’s it got to do with you whether I did or didn’t,” the Conservative candidate, defending a majority of 6,242, told The Sun, adding that the bet was “nobody’s business”. “I hope to win. I’m busting a gut to win. I expect to lose. In the 2005 election, I busted a gut to win. I expected to lose. I had a bet on myself to lose in the 2005 election, and my bet went down the pan,” Sir Philip told the newspaper. “And if anyone’s alleging I have done anything illegal, they’re very welcome to allege it, but I’m afraid I haven’t.”
good God Almighty ...... the USSC is legitimizing bribery. does anybody still think the country isn't sliding towards official banana-state status? https://abc7chicago.com/post/us-supreme-court-decisions-today-ex-portage-mayor/15002602/ The Supreme Court overturned the bribery conviction of a former Indiana mayor on Wednesday, the latest in a series of decisions narrowing the scope of federal public corruption law. The high court's 6-3 opinion along ideological lines found the law criminalizes bribes given before an official act, not rewards handed out after. "Some gratuities can be problematic. Others are commonplace and might be innocuous," Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote. The lines aren't always clear, especially since many state and local officials have other jobs, he said. The high court sided with James Snyder, a Republican who was convicted of taking $13,000 from a trucking company after prosecutors said he steered about $1 million worth of city contracts to the company. In Chicago, it's known as a kickback. "He was convicted by a federal jury, and, today, the Supreme Court said that the federal law doesn't actually make his conduct illegal," said Jonathon Masur, with University of Chicago Law School.
I suppose the only surprise there is that the Supreme Court didn’t mandate a kickback for themselves for every deal.
Usually with SC decisions, they make sense when explained even if you don’t agree with them. But this one doesn’t, no matter how you add it up. If you’re going to get 10% of the total value of a deal, why does it make a difference whether the man tells you that before or after the deal? If I’m bidding on a contract and know that I’ll get it if I pay the Republican in charge 10%, 2 things: 1. I’m factoring that bribe into the price 2. I will wait until the deal is signed before paying him, but, obviously, this deal will have been agreed beforehand. Like so many of the decisions by this Roberts’ court, it’s not just the plotting of hairs, it’s a complete refutation of reality and a creation of new law. Future SCs are going to have their hands full wading their way through this putrid environment of invented law.
if Trump lies and cheats his way back in, today's SC will be remembered fondly as sensible and reasonable. bribing public officials might become mandatory.
Nope. When/if Lumpy blags his way back into the WH, today’s SC will be fondly remembered as co-conspirators and enablers.
not if he gets 4 years to put a couple more Alito's or Thomas's on there. eg Thomas is the oldest on SCOTUS and some R will throw cash / vehicles / houses (all 3 most likely) to get him to step down.
Before the debate I was asked. Regardless who wins would you change your vote? I didn’t watch the debate, on one hand I knew that trump would just take himself out with his, well the media call them falsehoods, too whimpy to call him a fkn Liar! But I had this feeling of impending doom. Confusing me because I felt like that when Liverpool were losing 3 Zip at half time to Milan in the CL final. Anyway, I digress. I settled in to watch a fascinating episode of Naked and Afraid but I couldn’t get into it though because Mrs Scouse kept coming in from the bedroom TV with comments from the Biden Shit Show. So I missed the part were the guy, a Texan, was so hungry that he dove in a muddy pond to swim after an alligator and I couldn’t do a replay. So in answer to your question, it was a question wasn’t it. Yes, I will still vote all the way for Democrat. Whether it’s Biden or whoever the coach subs in for him. End of. Well edit: How about Hunter? No don’t poo poo it. He is a convicted felon. Like v Like. GROAN…!!!
Saw parts of it on a plane back from Puerto Vallarta, thinking to myself "what a choice we have here...". Going to be interesting, these coming months.
Interesting all around. Your post does bring up a very salient point I was thinking about. Now at the outset, let me say that this debate was a huge loser for Biden and a huge winner for Lumpy. No matter how you add it up, Biden gave meat to the story that he’s doddery, out of it, etc. The ironic counterpoint here is that it is Lumpy who has the more serious mental affects, being a lot closer to dementia than Biden. A lot. But all of that is by the by. Biden lost the debate and didn’t just lose it, looked bad in doing so. All of us here have been around football long enough to know the difference between a close fought 3-1 and a 1-0 whumping and vice versa. But Biden lost on the scoreboard and in the stands. (Now there’s an intro that’s too long). But anyway…The country is very polarized right now and in a totally unscientific guess, I’m going to say that 85%+ of those who are going to vote in November already know where they’re going to place their X and nothing’s going to change that. So in this respect was Biden losing such a death blow? How many voters who were watching were genuinely persuadable? How many who were going to vote Biden are now going to vote Lumpy? Very few I would imagine. Vice versa also fwiw. I suspect that what might happen is that wavering Biden voters are now either not going to vote or will write in/vote for RFK. Now neither candidate can afford to lose voters in swing states, but if someone in NY or CA says they can no longer vote for Biden, big f.ucking deal; Wisconsin or NC, that’s a problem. I’m wondering come November how big an effect this debate will have? Does a late June, pre-convention debate move the needle that hugely? If this had been the second debate, it possibly could have been terminal. Even then, do debates move then needle? Any more than VP picks? If Biden gets out on the road and/or does a few TV interviews (watch, he will) where he shows himself to be contrite and laughing at himself about his performance, I think the debate will largely be forgotten. But the consistent shout of being out of it will not fade. But that was hardly ever likely to fade anyway. Lumpy lied bigly a lot last night. Watch the Biden camp push those lies for the next month. Now, it’s no secret that I think Lumpy singularly unsuited to 1600; Biden is also, but is much, much, much the lesser of two evils to the extent that it’s no contest. What a shame we won’t have a proper election campaign with real candidates.
