I can't, but should, stop thinking about Chicho's incident. After listening to the Jason Kreis interview on ESPN 700 it sounds like the issue took place off the field and possible away from the club. I wonder if he got heated over Colombia's loss in the Copa final and lost his cool online or in-person. The timing of the suspension and the Copa final seem like a logical connection.
Maybe, just hear me out, Chicho went all Mission Impossible and made his way into the Hard Rock via the AC units? Just sayin'. Just hope that is is a one time thing and not something that has been going on for awhile that if ever revealed will make this much worse for both Chicho and RSL.
The RSL SHOW hosts mentioned that he played for Kreis on the USA U-23 team. So JK probably had something to do with this. I hope it’s more than him simply doing a solid for Michel and that Kreis truly believes he can contribute.
RSL show says he's been with the club training for some time now. Of course, the press release didn't mention his recent injury. They should address that.
Also, is that $3m in GAM per transfer, window or season? Pretty sure guys like Garth would like to know. Is the GAM from the 4 U-22 path tradeable? I'm wondering if RSL could trade for someone like Mukhtar? Really hoping for an entertaining window, but a lot of teams will probably wait it out to see how the rules can affect things. I think Kurt should try to stay ahead of the curve. Really unique opportunity with this season and this window.
Xavier Gozo played a half in the US U20's opening game of the Concacaf championships, a 9-0 thrashing of Jamaica. He had an assist. I did not watch so I have no observations.
More speculation on the Chicho suspension. Did something happen within the club? Could that be part of the decline we saw recently? Sounds less and less that it was related to the Portland game.
I think the decline has more to do with the injury. I read the issue happened around the time of the Colombia v Argentina final.
I wonder if he said Messi really isn’t the GOAT. Surely that would guarantee a swift and punitive reaction from MLS.
Here's a better highlight video. Seems to be very aggressive moving towards goal (Unlike Crooks), confident with his touch and prefers his left.
Welcome Lachie Brook! (Sounds like locky Brock to me ears in the above video). Interesting that he plays on the right but is very left footed. Another depth piece. Consider me underwhelmed if we don’t sign someone challenging to be a regular starter.
I wonder if the intent is for Brook to start opposite Gomez and slide Luna into the 9. The majority of the highlight clips, Brook is on the right, but at times he plays on the left side. I still believe that Crooks is a "super-sub" and we have to become more dangerous in the attack through the 9.
Playing on the right he looks like a Gomez replacement if RSL is hoping to move Andres for the $15 million they are asking.
$15mil is what Alfonso Davies went for and is 7th largest transfer out of MLS. I think that sounds about right.
I sure hope they let Gomez finish this season. This seems like the one year in over a decade we have a shot to win MLS cup.
