Well hopefully he'll come up with some good tactics against Galaxy on Saturday.

Players should take some responsibility of Luchi being fired, they should have been embarrassed by the performance over the last few weeks. Would be nice if they came out fired up and determined to win their next match.

I expect Ian is going to take the next few games to implement his system. Based on his coaching in Reno he's going do a hybrid 4-3-3, 4-4-2, and 4-5-1 with lots of over shifting and pressing wing play.

Really really really really excited for this hire. I think we will win a few more games then luchi would have.

I expect Kikanovic to be used more and used the right way.

I didn't watch much of Reno way back when, but I do remember Ian's midfield was pretty dynamic.

What about the defense? Is he capable of teaching basic defensive support and not waiting to engage?

Also, can he get anything out of Jebo who has been the suck all year.

He has a really good defense, but he had MLS Sub level guys starting which were above most USL standards at the time.

One of his keepers he had back in the day lives in Redding, and plays here still recreationally in the adult leagues. He said Ian a scientist, he isn't afraid to try things, but he works with what he has, he coaches the game in 15 minute sections.

Watching almost all of their games, he would shift from 3 back, to 4 back to 4-1 back depending on what was happening.

Against the Galaxy.. I don't think we get blown out unless Jackson is in goal.

With Ian as coach, Marcinkowski may have a second chance at life next season. He is an Ian guy. Tommy Thompson may see time at Center Mid... Kikanovic is likely going to be used more, Rodriguez won't be a wild cat running all over the map, I expect Ebobisse to improve with contributions.

I'm very optimistic and I feel like we finally have one of our guys again. Long time coming for Ian.

I hope and expect that Ian will be a big improvement over Luchi. I expect the team to be better organized, better, disciplined, and better motivated. I watched several Reno games. Ian is a good coach.

His biggest problem will be team attitude (they've got to be feeling pretty low by now) and roster quality differential.

But I think he will get more out of the guys than Luchi was getting. And I'm still not sure where Luchi went wrong. I think being too dogmatic in his approach, and clearly failing to inspire the guys.

    Go Quakesfans!!

What fools we have all been to not see this has all been a setup! Have the team flounder so that one of the 50 greatest Quakes as a player can take the reins to become the greatest Quakes coach ever... Front office brilliance I tell you!

Honestly, style of play under Russell's teams more enticing than Dallas or San Jose under Lucci.

    Man, I hope your right!
TT finally getting to play midfield would be great. Absolutely no business playing RB.

I think under Ian we will only barely break the record instead of obliterating it like we were on track to do so under Luchi.

I think this is a good video to understand how Ian thinks as a coach.

Ian is also a coach we don't have to worry about pointing fingers of blame, he is one of the most humble of guys, he takes responsibility where it is given.

I am right up there, though I wish he had gotten the chance at the start of the season. If he can get a tune of this squad in the current circumstances, that will say a lot.

I hope he is bold with lineup choices and has no sacred cows.

I wonder if he will try his diamond again?

I hope he tries his diamond, I don't think we'll see any drastic changes until the Chicago or SKC game. But coaches who've been fired this year, have started out with wins.

The diamond would suit us well.

As today’s news unfolded, I decided to visit Costco for today’s meal:

    IMG_1191.jpeg

But it then hit me that two contrasting events occurred today: the firing of one person as well as the promotion of another.

So should today’s dinner have been considered a grievous meal or a celebratory one?

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Regular Pepsi does indeed taste better than Diet Pepsi. In fact, regular sodas generally taste better than their diet counterparts.

    Thank you. :)

And yes, the best rotisserie chicken at an awesome price is hard to beat!

Besides to celebrate today’s news, the other reason why I chose today’s meal is that with money being so tight for me lately :(, I can stretch this meal out for 2-3 days. :D

A few spider friends tend to pop up here now and then, maybe more (but hopefully not) if they find out about this meal.

As for Don’s spider friends: I’d invite them, but they’re likely already feasting along with Don on his rotisserie chicken meal at his house.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!
