Yeah, I mentioned Tomo Allen in my post that you partially quoted. My comment was that he's the only reasonable striker in our system but is a stick figure kind of guy, sort of Pellegrino 2.0. But with room / time to fill out a bit. Pellegrino is never gonna fill out. My guess is that Tomo's Stanford bound (or similar) after next year. But we should see what he can do in Next/Pro next year if not this year. He'd be a million times better than Donnery I'm sure.
I’d be surprised if Tomo is 185 but he still looks like he’d have a tough time not getting pushed around in MLS in the box as a #9. But as I said he’s young enough that there’s potential for him to fill out a bit. Pellegrino is just a bit of a freak of nature but he’s so light that I think it enables him to be quite fast even at 33yo.
I'm very sure he's 185 lbs on weight program but at 16, yes, he would struggle physically at times against men and how physical MLS is.
Make it happen FO! If galaxy could get Puig on a free, we should be giving Gabigol whatever he wants. Talk about having the best forward in MLS. He's a stud and he'd come free!! 🚨🇧🇷 Gabigol, expected to leave Flamengo as free agent in December.“Gabriel has a contract until December. From July 1st he can sign a pre-contract and we will start working this possibility”, his agent Junior Pedroso tells me. pic.twitter.com/9HnDqTrHBJ— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 1, 2024 I know it'd never happen
If this happened it would be INSANE. Only problem is we have two moves we need to make and Gruezo and Jebo it might take a lot. The Transfermarkt free agent page refreshed and if we got even one of these guys holy moly https://www.transfermarkt.us/statistik/vertragslosespieler
I'm sure you all will say no, but do we want him? I do Sources: Former Brazil int’l Oscar open to continuing career in MLS.Oscar, 32, been offered to MLS clubs with his contract in China expiring this winter. Has 8g/14a in 16 apps this season.Won’t be Atlanta though, who want to go younger for Almada replacement. pic.twitter.com/mXpRTXE6sT— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) July 1, 2024
Sorry but I think the Matthew Hoppe fanboy also being interested in Robbie Robinson has solidified me in the "100% hell no" camp!
Could be worse. Alex Morgan, the Aftershock guy, said that Matthew Hoppe would be the most significant signing in Quakes history. Actually he wasn't that bad. But,....nope.
Hoppe is the kind of guy who should take vet minimum and go to San Diego as a last chance dance honestly
It's possible that both of our "playoff push" forwards are now done with professional soccer, a little more than a half a year later. I think Ayo is w/o a team and future unknown.
