Ayo has no team, maybe he will play next season. Mental issues took him out of commission. He is fixing his diet, and working on things, we shall see what happens to him. He's still a young man.

That's right, I remember you telling us that. Hope things start to go better for him.

I think Hoppe's good enough to play pro soccer somewhere. Maybe not at Middlebrough though. I think he needs to play in a 2-forward system. He's not suitable for wide forward in a 4-3-3, as we saw, and he doesn't work so well as a 9 either. Luchi finally gave up and would often move to a 4-4-2 to accommodate Hoppe.

I am curious where Hoppe is. He's one of the guys on this team I never really followed or really cared to. He seemed like a guy who knew he'd be here a short time.

I'm curious if Hoppe was even 100% when he showed up

I think he was 100%, and that's the problem. But maybe if Middlebrough would have lowered the price to a box of chips we might have retained him. We've had worse players. He's a much better finisher than Jebo.

I don't disagree, but Hoppe was like half a Hoppe when we got him. Then again I wouldn't try very hard on a train destined to crash either.

I think we're close to having a decent 11 if we can figure out Striker and D-Mid as top priority, but Yueill looked the best I've seen him play in years last game outside his shooting

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. A killer striker and a killer d-mid. If we don't do it in the summer, we have to make it happen in the offseason. And Gruezo has to go.

Gruezo and Judd need to go for sure out of this whole roster.

If we can find an upgrade and use Jebo in the Judd spot off the bench that would be fantastic. That should be our priority this summer if we are to make some moves.

We can survive with Gruezo, Yueill and Tsakiris until then. I also think we need to find another CB but thats a low priority.

Has to be Gruezo first because of his DP slot. There is no other move that will give us more roster flexibility. Hernan will not have another huge CF or some attacker that can come in until he is gone.

However, moving Jebo/Jackson will release a lot of salary as well. There are some teams I think could use a Jebo. Charlotte, Atlanta, Philly. Jackson I'm sure for the right price teams would want him like Minnesota, Vancouver, and Charlotte as well,

You should know by now every reply will be 'no retreads'

He's not an MLS retread - never coached in MLS.

Gallardo played for DC United in 2008-9 so he has MLS experience and has lived in the US before... his list of honors as a player and coach is long (Wiki)

That's the type of move an ambitious MLS team would look to make. For the Quakes to be that kind of team they would have to eat Gruezo's contract if they can't sell him to Mexico, and tell Gallardo that if he comes here they will bring in whoever he wants as their third DP alongside HLM and Espinoza...

Yes, but as I said, he's never coache in MLS, and is not a "retread" in my mind the way that say Caleb Porter or Dominic Kinnear would be.

I wasn't implying that he was. "Retread" = bad. Familiar with MLS and the US = good.

Agreed. I was responding to Kaitlyn saying that everyone's going to reject him because of "retread".

Talking about coaches I think if we could use a ton of defense and Gary Smith would not be such a bad idea. Same with Kinnear. Also based off of Proximity the Sac republic coach would not be such a bad idea as well. Dude knows how to get the best out of USL talent would not mind to see how he does with the Quakes.

    No, never una gallina!
Joking aside, he'd be a great hire you'd think but who really knows. He rebuild riBer plate from the ashes of them going down to second division for their first time in history and made them a juggernaut. Combining veterans with academy kids.
But then pretty much crapped the bed in the Saudi league. So who really knows.
It'd be interesting but I think it would have to be with a ambitious club. Maybe atlanta? Or something like that.

This is a non-DP 25 year old Costa Rican winger who is playing at the #9 for NYCFC and scoring his second goal of the first half... compare to Jeremy Ebobisse, Benji Kikanovic, Preston Judd, etc.

Do the Quakes even have an analytics department and a scouting department? What does Chris Leitch even do?

How are the Quakes supposed to compete with the level of the top dozen or so MLS teams in the year 2024??

    The previous goal:

Not a DP, on a terrible team that can't win, but capable of a moment of individual skill
