Agree on McT but don’t see it happening. ETH seems to love him. I was hoping Mount would be his replacement.
It's not that players like Scott are bad footballers, it's just the EPL is at a different level. We've seen somewhat average players in EPL go to Italy, Spain, or Germany and become huge successes. Think Anguissa at Napoli. He left relegated Fulham and within two seasons won a Serie A title playing great football. Eric Dier, a Maguire-level CB, displaced min-Jae, a player we wanted, from Bayern's starting eleven. He starts ahead of de Ligt, too. He regularly frustrated Spurs fans, yet he's found his way into Bayern eleven over some very good players who are probably better suited to succeed in the EPL. The players in the EPL, who are used to that level, those rigors, have an advantage over everyone else. Better fitness levels and sharper minds, even if in the EPL, they look exposed on those fronts. There's no way Modric or Kroos could remain active footballers like they have at Real, probably the best footballing side on the planet, if they were in the EPL. But what's La Liga? Outside of the big three, the rest of the clubs have smaller budgets than the team that finishes last in the EPL. The EPL is the Super League.
McT would do fine in a direct team playing off the striker. He'll score a decent amount and his lack of ability on the ball won’t be as big of an issue in a team that isn’t trying to play on the front foot and possess the ball. We should cash in now while is stock is high or we risk another Lingard issue.
While I don't think McT should be starting, he does have the ability to be in the right place at the right time to score. He scored 10 in all competitions this season. He offers a different option off the bench when we need a goal.
McT is on £60kpw and is out of contract next year but with an option of an additional year - so 2026. One thing I agree with Ineos on is that squadies should not be on big money. McT is not, however he is not at the right level. However not a priority to resolve this window (given other priorities & not highly sellable) and does have some value to us provided he is only a sub. Eriksen for example is on £150kpw which is too much for a squaddie and his contract ends next year with no option. So this is more of a priority sale.
Meant to add that if we replace Eriksen properly and Mount actually reports as available, then McT should get very few (sub) minutes anywho.

Isn't Charlie McNeil, one of the kids we are high on? And isn't Tom Huddlestone now a coach? Also weren't we hot on Shore tire a few years ago as a big future kid. Youth development is wild.
The beeb says we are negotiating extensions with Evans and Heaton, plus have left Forson deal on the table … Evans in talks with Man Utd over new deal https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c977x6gq86qo
McNeil put up good numbers in the youth setup but taking the step from youth football to senior leagues is huge. A lot of players fail at that step. Not sure if that’s been the case with McNeil, I haven’t watched any of his loan games, but his numbers aren’t good.
Marca are saying we’ve bid 60 mil for Yoro. Would be a huge pickup but given how many signings we need, that’s a big chunk of it gone.
Seems we were too late on Adarabioyo despite Wilcox knowing him. Chelsea got in and executed while we were still weighing up an offer. An EPL proven CB on a free should have been a priority given our circumstances rather than spending time doing performance reviews. Glazer 2.0 fears rise as INEOS problem sees Man Utd fail with 'first transfer pursuit' https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1908019/Man-Utd-transfer-news-Glazer-INEOS
Can’t remember the source, but I read that we pursued him but when we heard his salary demands we dropped interest. If that’s true, it makes a little sense. Chelsea have no problem having a ruined wage structure.
A lot of places reporting that we did bid (late) for him but were rejected. Which (if true) suggests we were ok with his wages. The wages thing could be true, but then could also be a line we are briefing because we failed. Used to see that “justification” under the Glazers.
Ill be honest, Im not completely in the sell Rashford camp. Because I dont think we can. PSG can buy Rafael Leao who is younger and better. Madrid have 3 LWF's and can sell one of them to any of the clubs looking for a right footed LW [Rodrygo for example] Barca cannot afford him. No club in Italy can afford him. No club in Germany can afford him. He'd have to go to Saudi Arabia and its hard to believe he would do that. Not just because he wont be able to drink as much.
With that said, if we did somehow buy him we'd have to replace him. Who? We're not competing with the big boys for the big names. I dont even think we can get Eze or an Anthony Gordon [who does everything Rashford doesnt, think, make good decisions] In fact were better off keeping him. Unlless you want ********ing Harvy Barnes or Dwight Mcneill
He isn’t getting sold. We just have to hope we have a decent LB next season and his form seems oddly tied to having a fullback that gets forward and supports him. But if for whatever reason PSG come forward, we should bite their hand off.
we really needs to move past this PSG crap. as i said before, they needed multiple forwards recently and overpaid for less than stellar ones and didn't even sniff around Rashford. they bought less experienced forwards for more than Rashford money. when he was at his peak no less. that says it all they simply aren't interested. i agree with benni... he's a very hard sell because no one wants him. he's not better than the current forwards at big clubs and he isn't the player that will move you closer to the league or UCL. if he did somehow move on i'd still take Mitoma because he actually can dribble and has far higher IQ
