If that’s true, of course we would be the first club where something like this is ever enforced. I don’t remember this being an issue when Sesko transferred from one Red Bull club to another for pennies when a bunch of other teams were offering more.
On the Zirkzee transfer, his agent Kia Joorabchian (yes - him of the Tevez agent fame) wants £12.6m agent fee. Aside from not wanting to pay that much to that snake, it kinda kills the attractiveness of the £34m release clause.
If the kid wants to come, he’ll push the deal through. If he’s willing to let the deal fall through to get his agent paid, he’s not the type we want to deal with. As for his quality, I’ve really only seen highlights and maybe a game or two when watching Serie A. Seems like a decent linkup player and ball carrier but doesn’t seem inpressive at all in front of goal. Still, for 35 mil he’s definitely worth a punt. We need a backup 9 but the bigger priorities lie in midfield and defense.
Apparently Ratcliffe confirmed in an interview that we were going to sign Todibo but that UEFA blocked it. So that bullshit is actually true.
Not sure. The only loophole I could think of is if we didn’t register him for the EL since that’s where the conflict of interest takes place.
Yes, he confirmed that in a recent Bloomberg interview. He confirmed the Tobido rumours too, just without using his name.
Throw in a 50 mil bid for Yoro now before Madrid or Pool have time to act. Gotta get aggressive with him. Oh and I saw this earlier...if United want to be a big club, start acting like one. There's definitely a loophole out there to sign Todibo. Let's use it like Chelsea have with the contract length situation. Loopholes are there to be exploited.
Personally, I like the rule preventing us from signing Todibo. I think there should be more rules to prevent single owners of multiple teams turning them into feeders for others.
Smart move by him. Ornstein said we never contacted Palace for him. Sounds like it was between Bayern, Chelsea, and Newcastle. Pretty clear winner in that group. And as much as we could use another winger, it’s pretty far down the priority list. Go hard on CB and 6, then backup striker. Next season should be sink or swim for Anad and Antony. Someone needs to step up.
- Chelsea sells Maatsen to Villa.- Chelsea buys Kellyman off Villa for £20m, despite his valuation being £1m and having played less than 150 mins of professional football.- Villa signs Lewis Dobbin from Everton for £10m, though his valuation is £2m.- Everton buys Tim… pic.twitter.com/aZBoIFVD4m— Alice (@AliceTalksFooty) June 22, 2024 These dudes are playing fast and loose with the rules. City is bad but obviously seems everyone has a chef in the accounting dept.
Everyone is playing the game but us. The best teams don’t get there by playing by the rules. I’m not saying go full City, but if there’s a loophole we need to exploit it before it’s closed. For example, if Nice terminated Todibos contract and United signed him, there’s not a damn thing UEFA could do to block it. But we’re literally the only big club afraid of FFP and PSR so we won’t do it.
Also, we need to aggressively go after either Zirkee or David. Both are good backup 9 options available for a relative bargain. Other clubs will identify that as well. The longer we wait, the greater the chance of losing them or overpaying. Identify one and get it done. Then focus the majority of funds on CB and 6.
I like the idea we sign him and but he is not allowed to play in Europa until Nice are eliminated. Surely that has to be legit. That will be one CB. We sign David, pick-up the best LB in the Championship for pennies as depth and permanently sing Amrabat. I still say we trade Malacia to Chelsea for Lavia and see who is available on a free
