🚨 | #mufc have rejected a bid of less than £30 million for Scott McTominay from Fulham. [@ChrisWheelerDM] pic.twitter.com/kS58xI1FAw— UtdDistrict (@UtdDistrict) July 17, 2024 What's the fair value of McT ? I think £30million.
saw £17m myself. either way it is a fair bid for a guy in the last year of his contract. he's not an £80m player on a four year deal, not even £60m. take it and run
Yeah, but for £17mil? Other teams were wlling to pay more last summer and he had a decent season by his standards.
one team - West Ham and they offered £30m. he now has one year less and one year left. he also did the majority of the good during the first half of the season and then cooled off. try for £20m if possible, but again United let this come down to the wire so this is where we are at
Only if we have someone else lined up to come in at mid. Also, 17-20mil is chump change whether its in his last year or not. Experienced PL scoring player coming into his prime years. 40mil or f off.
I appreciate having McT around more than most here I think, but I wouldn’t hold out for £40M for him given the situation and fact that he is in the last year. £25/30M feels more appropriate for that given his experience and goal scoring threat. Anything less and I would keep him for the squad and try to extend the deal and maybe move next year. Given he is academy player a sale would be good for PPR and also allow us to get another pickup, so hopefully they are also evaluating whether there is any intention on his part to sign a new deal. If no, then we may need to sell even if lower than expected rather than risk a free next summer.
he's been a goal scoring threat for essentially only half a season in the league. moreso for Scotland but that didn't materialise in the Euros either. we are not in a position of strength with this so i wouldn't get my hopes up. on second thought though, he is a homegrown player which would help the books but that is only if someone wants to win trade with us
Rough list of the net spend so far (assuming Greenwood and Yoro deals go through): IN: Zirkzee - €42.5M Yoro - €62M * OUT: Greenwood - €31.6M * Kambwala - €10M Alvaro Carreras - €6M van de Beek - €500k Net spend - €56.4M (£47.43M) Lots of reports earlier in the season (notably from the Athletic as well) that the budget in the region of £50M. EDIT: One thing this does not take into account is whether the £50M was for PPR in this window - the deals for Zirkzee and Yoro are reportedly in 3 or more installments which might mean there is still funds available this window even without sales
Here we go! Yoro done. Next, as per sources is Ugarte from PSG and De Ligt deal depends on Maguire/Lindelof sale. 🚨✍🏻 Leny Yoro has just signed his contract as new Manchester United player.Deal completed on both clubs and player side as Man Utd and Lille are exchanging all documents today.Yoro signs in at Manchester United until June 2029, medical tests also done. 🚨🔴 Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Manuel Ugarte.Contract terms discussed, player keen on moving to United even without Champions League football.Club-to-club talks continue with PSG, as more clubs also inquired.Same agent as Leny Yoro: Jorge Mendes. pic.twitter.com/vyox9phNlQ— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 18, 2024 I don't recognize this club right now. All these deals
Only half way there - same situation as we are in with Branthwaite & De Ligt. So still have to agree with PSG. However for sure, so far, we seem far slicker and able to execute on multiple fronts. More so than we have ever been last decade or so. Shows how key it is having competent people above and around the manager A second striker to replace Martial, a CB to replace Varane and a starter to replace Casemiro are vital this window. So two thirds in the bag and movement on the last third More still to do after this if we can get more sales.
Excited by the buys but want to see more outgoings. Particularly Casemiro and Maguire. So far, so good, INEOS.
Strikes me as a skillset we're missing in this squad. And, his passing isn't horrendous. Enough it could work if paired with very good distributors behind, and beside him.
"destroyer" has become such a negative term in recent years. i don't think it's bad at all. if it stops city and the rest running rings around us in midfield who cares. every role has a purpose
