My point is it was against Scotland. If Musiala does that against Spain or France then I'd have understood more. Say Bellingham or Foden scores a Hattrick against Serbia you wouldn't then say they were better than Mbappe.
But you think Mbappe is better than Kane at those attributes that Kane excels at? Most of the time I’ve seen Mbappe against City for example he’s mostly been pocketed by Walker.
Where Rangers/Celtic went awol/fail in this local talent grooming it provides the chance for the other clubs to step in and profit from the talents ignored.
For an English player you have to excel against a top team to get credit, elsewhere those rules don’t count. Those are just the laws of football and the reality of being an Englishman.
Well, in the first half of the friendly against the Orange Squad they were the better side and only failed to finish their chances.
McCoist is fantastic because it feels like you're watching the game with a mate. His analysis is good rather than great, but his insight and comments are top notch.
I think they are capable of better performances than last night but I just had a feeling they would end up being outclassed. Germany are a good side ( even if I hate to admit it on here with some of their annoying manchild posters boys ) who I personally think will win it.
Yes. Musiala is a great young player but I've watched a fair bit at bayern munich this season and he has been good but no where near Bellinghams level at the minute. Infact if you look at good young number 10s in world football Palmers had a better season,
Normally you would expect that to happen, but the whole league tended to move to a very short term approach. Teams looked to get established players from the lower English leagues rather than develop their own, just to try to stay competitive. The 10 team top division was one factor - while it meant the quality was better overall, it became much easier to get relegated in a poor season rather than finish lower mid table. Teams couldn't afford to take chances, so were looking for players to make immediate impacts. Outside of the Old Firm, there's never been much cash, so youth development was often left to chance. The decline of the non-league system was another big factor - the Junior League. It was suffering financially and major reforms in the late 60s hobbled it into later years. If you look back at some of the most talented players Scotland produced in the 70s and 80s, many came from the Juniors into smaller clubs - Alan Hansen at Partick Thistle, Davie Cooper at Clydebank, Steve Nicol at Ayr, Joe Jordan at Morton, Steve Archibald at Clyde, Ally McCoist at St Johnstone. They all had a grounding in the Junior League in their mid to late teens and then moved into smaller pro teams before making it big.
I think Mbappe has like 3 goals in 5 games against City. There are of course things that Kane is better at than Mbappe, but ultimately I think Mbappe's best qualities are more scalable to the absolute pinnacle of the game, or at least he's better at imposing his game on the biggest stage than Kane is. Yeah, the speed is a massive part of it. Such a huge advantage in terms of fashioning your own chances.
That's not true. Kane can win games on his own. Kane has qualities that mbappe doesn't have. He's an amazing passer of the ball. Mbappe is quicker but both players are equally technical
We have a good midfield. Wharton rice and Bellingham are better potentially than kroos kimmich Musiala
The big difference between the two is that where Mbappe appears, titles follow, where Kane appears, titles go....
He can now and again but not to the same level Mbappe can/does. Kane did that more earlier in his career, less no nowadays.
I do love seeing Scottish tears. They can dish it out but not take it back. Like all of the home nations.
I disagree, his passing is still high quality especially when dropping deep. It will be interesting to see how well Mbappe does as he gets older with regard to his pace. I mean Kane could realistically go on at the top level for quite some time as he’s never relied on that attribute where as Mbappe does rely on that asset to a large degree.
Well yeah you got me there but to be fair I think if Kane was playing for PSG, he might have quite a few by now but he maybe foolishly stayed loyal to Spurs for a few seasons too long imo.
Good job for VAR for that Swiss goal as clearly not offside and not really close. Great pass though from the Swiss player.
