I listened to parts of this interview of Hugo Perez on YouTube:

There was an interesting point discussed -- sounds like some players in the recent past had to pay their own way in for El Salvador NT camps. Hugo says that's no longer an issue.

I had heard of this on the WNT side of some Concacaf nations, but it's illuminating to learn that even a serious (though not rich) soccer nation like El Salvador didn't have enough money to fly in dual national prospects.

Based on this, I would expect that also happens on the YNT side of the equation and may influence why players don't jump at the chance to play for a country they are eligible for.

Hugo also mentioned that they are giving Tomas Romero time to decide if he's ready to commit to ES.

Here's one that doesn't make sense.

Bill Hamid (Abdul B. Hamid) was called up for 3 friendlies with Sierra Leone.

But Bill played in the 2017 Gold Cup which is permanently cap-tying even if he weren't well over 21 at the time. He also had 3 appearances for the US U23s in Concacaf Olympic Qualifying which is provisionally cap-tying. He could have asked for a one-time switch, but the Gold Cup cap would have been noticed by FIFA in the approval process (which also requires USSF to provide a playing record).

And SL went out of the way to ID these matches as "FIFA sanctioned."

    Should generate some discussion.

Your missed Texas born and former U20 USMNT player, Mo Hernandez.

He started at LB vs Haiti.
